You are correct, the modem is running in DOCSIS 3.0 mode at the present time. If there are enough CODA-4582 modems connected to your CMTS at some point, Rogers will be able to enable DOCSIS 3.1 downstream in which case the downstream LED will show purple apparently. DOCSIS 3.1 upstream is still under construction, as they say.

I hope all Rogers footprint will be on DOCSIS 3.1 by the end of 2017..

I think it'll be much, much, much sooner than that...
It seems that they've already conducted an extensive email campaign to get 500/gigabit users to swap their modems for the 4582; as @RogersDave explained it, getting enough of those folks away from D3.0 hardware is the prerequisite to reallocating capacity to D3.1...

I hope you're right, I am on 250 plan but everyone will benefit from DOCIS 3.1, especially us gamers with more than likely a better ping in online games.

What is considered the norm in terms of power cycling the CODA modem? Should one do this every 2 weeks or longer?
Back when I had my own router and ran DD-WRT I never power cycled it and the unit worked just fine. On some Belkin routers I have setup they have a feature called "Self Healing" which essentially schedules a reboot once a week.
What do you guys suggest?

My problem with this new modem is that it looses connection every 3-4 hours. I can ping websites but i cannot surf the web or do anything else. I have to reboot it every time and it's becoming very unpractical. I am thinking of switching to another operator. Any suggestions?
I am on firmware 2.0.10.14
error i get is:
84020200 warning Lost MDD Timeout;CM-MAC= ;CMTS-MAC= ;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;

To power cycle the CODA modem or not? An interesting question. I didn't touch the CGN3ACSMR and it ran without any issues. I'm assuming the same here unless I see poor performance over several days, weeks, or months. I suspect that new firmware versions will result in power cycling or factory resets in the near future, so, for now, its a moot question I think.

Had to reboot my modem 3 times today because my internet would freeze or lose connection.
Rogers fix this issue or else im returning this modem.
Tired of dealing with this everyday now for 2 weeks and still no fix.

I factory resetted my router twice already but it still loses connection three to four times a day.

@Eusquesio can you log into the modem, navigate to the STATUS .... DOCSIS WAN page, copy the downstream and upstream tables and paste them into a post. The copy and paste process will paste in the text contents of the tables, so you don't have to use a screen capture. Please copy and paste the two tables only, and none of the info above the downstream table. Those are the modem's signal levels which might show why you're experiencing problems.

@Eusquesio you're signal levels look ok, but one interesting point is that there is only one OFDM Downstream channel running. I thought that there should be two OFDM channels running so that requires some checking. That indicates that the modem is running in DOCSIS 3.1 mode. The downstream LED at the front of the modem should be purple instead of blue. @RogersDave will have to have a look at this single channel situation and let us know if this is correct or not. You could try a factory reset to see if that turns on the other channel and if that fails simply swap the modem at the nearest Rogers store. That could be the fastest way to resolve this and it would be interesting to see if that resulted in both OFDM channels running.
You could also wait for Dave to have a look at your modem to see if there is some issue with the modem or the CMTS. Dave will need your modem's MAC address which is found in the modem's STATUS page. That page comes up when you log into the modem.
To send the MAC address to Dave, click on his name (link) @RogersDave to navigate to his public page. Select the right hand link to "Send this user a private message" That will take you to the message composition page which is already addressed. Fill in a title and in the details add your modem's MAC address and a quick explanation of what you're experiencing and indicate that there is only one OFDM channel running. Dave probably won't get back to you until Tuesday or Wednesday. Is Monday a holiday? Not sure.
Fwiw, in DOCSIS 3.1 mode the modem should be using the OFDM channels and it should be very fast on the downstream side, but I'm not sure of whether or not both OFDM channels are required.

@Big8D no, thats not a problem. In order to run DOCSIS 3.1, a certain percentage of the users connected to any given CMTS require the CODA-4582. At or above that threshold %, DOCSIS 3.1, which uses OFDM can be enabled on the CMTS. There is a bandwidth tradeoff as the freqency spectrum allocated to DOCSIS 3.1 will become exclusive to DOCSIS 3.1. @RogersDave can correct me here if I'm wrong. The remaining frequency spectrum will remain as is for DOCSIS 3.0 operation.
So, for now, your modem remains in DOCSIS 3.0 mode, which isn't a problem.

Maybe I'm missing something (I'm in a still-3.0 area), but I thought the initial D3.1 deployment was only one OFDM channel, with another to come later as D3.0 capacity gets reallocated...
@RogersDave can you clarify? Has anybody observed two OFDM channels?
