Re: Rogers Hitron CODA-4582 Hardware

@markopascurrently the .23 is still considered beta firmware as .19 is currently considered the stable release and has been pushed to all other Rogers devices.

Yes the logs will show you that the software update has gone through (Unless your backlog has already been filled with other messages since the upgrade). I can't fully remember what the log message states but it is pretty obvious (Something along the lines of "NMS software downloading" followed by an install message). Few things you can check is the uptime on the device to find out if the device rebooted after an update or if it just had a service blip from upstream.

I'm not gonna let one day hold me back on the speed decrease, I will check again today and verify.

My main concern on getting the newest firmware was so that I can start using my DLink router ever since I moved to this new CODA modem, the previous modem never had that issue but it was holding me back from getting those gigabit speeds.

Re: Rogers Hitron CODA-4582 Hardware

.23 improvement over .13 thats for sure but not perfect. This morning, after 14 hours uptime, the laptop wired lan connection was sluggish, took forever to open a folder on another computer, but switched to Wi-Fi and was instant, did ping and speedtest, pings were great and speed was hitting 330 (250 service), switched once more to wired and had hard time just loading speedtest page. Something killing the wired network after some time. I didnt reboot it yet, see what happens when kids gets home Smiley Happy   I guess next step turning off 2.4 band, see what happens.

Guess you're on the Beta pgm to get .23 pushed. What are your upstream numbers? Are your Signal Strength readings for all 32 channels above +3.0.....my signal strengths are 11 above +3.0, 4 are -5.0 and remaining in between. However SNR is good at 34 - 38.  Waiting to hear back from L2 on backend issues before joining the Beta pgm.

I am puzzled....with those negative Signal Strength readings and you're getting 900 downstream speeds, that's incredible. Where are you located and what are your upstream numbers?

@piskapo30 Your Signal Levels are WAY out of spec. Call Rogers and ask them to run a signal check on the modem, they should be sending a tech out. Rogers Spec: -10 to +10, 0 is optimal.
