Hello Community,

We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.

This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware.  We've invited @RogersSergio@RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread.  Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

Its cheaper to get all 3 services than just internet lol. So I took all 3 and saved money.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

I plan to stick around
I just got it with internet at no cost they shipped it in the mail and I returned the coda never did any testing yet

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Really? So u didn’t have to sign up for ignite tv ? How do I order one ? Was there a extra charge for the modem or delivery?

Have not seen any confirmation that the Coda can be swapped for an XB6 without getting full Ignite service (must switch to IPTV).  Doesn't appear you get it for internet only or Internet/Digital TV service. Also, not a customer install....must be a service  install.  So...NO new news really. Too bad. 😞

@lethalsniper

114$ taxe included , gigabit internet basic tv and homephone

@RogersIan @Datalink

The new XB6 will it get D3.1 upstream soon also?

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

I’m paying 89 with tax just for internet I don’t really watch tv so I canceled cable and no need for a home phone line .. why pay a extra $20 bucks ?

If your paying that you're not on gigabit but on a smaller package, in my case it was cheaper but for you its not. So you're better stay like you are then 🙂

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Have you tested this new modem yet ? Are you getting better pings / latency and speeds ?

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Some are saying u can get this modem without ignite tv just need to call in and they will ship it out but u will need to setup it yourself which is easy .. hope this is true

Hello Community,

I just want to tell you guys I am now on CGM Technicolor and the improvement over the CODA is phenomenal! I would never go back!

I am so happy.

Isn't the Hitron CODA-4582U running Linux? Unless this is using the Intel Puma which is not very good.

It would be nice to give SSH to the modem so we can see what the kernel says on while on the beta program so technical people can see what the kernel is saying, don't need root but the ability to read syslog, kernel dmesg assuming these are running Linux, would be easier to give you more detailed info vs vague reports...

I am hoping the 7.1.x firmware has (again assuming Linux kernel) a newer kernel since 2.0.10.36T6 has packet loss for me with low latency, this is pinging the endpoint gateway on your end < 10ms on avg should not have packet loss, reboot modem and it is corrected until it starts happening again sometimes after a day or two.

Here's my modem levels, RX is ok, assuming same spec ranges, when I worked for Shaw RX should've been closer to 0 dBmV so -15 to +15 is within spec.

TX is a bit low

Only log concerned with is: No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out often...

Wow that's wonderful, how did you go about getting a new modem? Ever since the new firmware, this coda is absolute trash and nothing but problems, care to share so we can swap it out too? I miss being happy with internet 😞

I'm hoping they will not roll this beta out if there's that many issues still. Put it on hold, iron out the issues currently reported.

Just joined the program but I'd rather not have a very buggy firmware/OS release if it's not 'beta' quality vs alpha.

Unless Rogers wants to send me another modem for testing 😄

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

I'm here a lot

Is there any special trick to triggering the firmware update?  I had asked to join the trial about 7 days ago now, gave my CODA modem serial number and MAC address but I haven't had the firmware pushed out as of yet.  Thanks all for you help and suggestions in advance, stay safe out there.

XB6 is flawless never needed to reboot it once, its solid I LOVE it.

Eveyrhing is good zero laytency in online gaming , streaming videos easily.

Only thing needed now is D3.1 upload, do we have updates on that @Datalink ?

How did you got about getting the XB6 modem? Is it available to gigabit internet subscribers only, or is it for bundle packages with tv etc...

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

At first it was only Bundle but now everyone can get it! The difference is huge.. XB6 is like a ferrari and the coda a 1997 honda civic.. you won't be disapointed and won't miss the Coda.

Is it just the technicolor XB6 or the other chipsets of XB6 are equally good as well

CGM technicolor does not have a Puma chipset.
So the choice was really easy to make!
Best modem I ever had with Rogers.
