Hello Community,
We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.
This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware. We've invited @RogersSergio, @RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread. Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

Pushed you back to 2.0.10.29 as requested.
@JohnBeaudin, version 2.0.10.30T1 is the most recent code I have but in their testing, Hitron identified a bug that can cause the device to reboot unexpectedly. If you are not affected, you can keep the code but I don't deploy it to anybody.
I should receive 2.0.10.31 Friday and may start deploying then or next week.
I should then receive 2.0.10.32 at the end of the month.

Hi Dave,
Wow, that was quick. Thank you. Back on .29.
Regards,
Z.

Setup was reasonably stable until about 6-8 weeks ago. Now the modem seems to reboot at least daily, wifi is erratic (on-off, weak-strong), d/l speed never approaches 1 Gbit. And very importantly my VOIP ATA keeps getting knocked out several times a day. I'm on .29. My 5G is now offline although the status shows all okay>

Ok, I am not affected by that bug so everything is good, looking forward for next versions later!
Thanks for the update.

Hi just got the gigabit modem and it is .27, having some connection issues as well so hoping I could be a part of this trial and see if it helps. Can I please have my modem's firmware updated?

I'm on CGN3 and .27 firmware and in Bridge mode and losing connection seemingly randomly every 7 days. Looking at the logs it seems to be renewing IP. But why does it renew at middle of the day and then sometimes in evening, disrupting my work etc. Before the firmware I was in Gateway mode and never had this problem. (but Bridge mode would crash modem randomly which the firmware fixed).
edit: it just released/renewed IP AGAIN right after I wrote this post... why....
2 renews in 1 day. 12:10 then just now 12:40...

Is the Modem renewing the IP address to the CMTS that is dropping the connection, or your computer/devices are renewing IP address twice a day causing a connection drop?
@if it's the modem when it drops the connection are all the lights on the front of the modem on like normal, or does the @ Light flash?
What device is the modem bridged too?

Is firmware 4.5.8.33 going to be distributed to all modems? Still on .27
Is there things that were dealt with in that upgrade?
Just curious.

Yes, I called the but look like no much help from them .!
@gp-se wrote:@dere61 Can you log into the modem and goto the DOCSIS WAN page and post your signal levels. Have you tried calling Rogers tech support and explain to them you are not getting the speeds you're paying for?
They, do every thing replaced the coax cable from the my home to their connecting box on the street. mean whyle I switched to the 1Giga with the CODA- 4582 still not getting the speed for what paying.
Today July 22 their Crontractor show up no idea what going on and now on the speed testing show Rogers and North York servos now wondering where they hock me up..still no answer from the Rogers .

I requested the trial a few days ago to hopefully allow my Chromecast to show up from other devices.
I can confirm that the new firmware indeed solves this issue, and the Chromecast now works as it should.
Now using firmware: 4.5.8.33

Can I please have my modem's firmware updated?
07-23-2017 08:31 PM
Signal levels look good. As for the server being North York or Toronto, don't worry about that, for speed tests it can connect to any server you choose, or it auto chooses by the lowest ping. Just because you're in Oshawa and select North York that is not an issue. The speedtest will choose the best server based on ping, so sometimes North York might have better ping, sometimes Toronto, but it doesn't matter which server it chooses.
When your speeds drop, how are you testing? Are you using a computer connected directly to the modem using an ethernet cable, or are you using a phone/tablet over WiFi?
All speed tests need to be done using a computer connected directly using ethernet, WiFi isn't reliable at all, and won't give you accurate results.

I am slowly working through the list of firmware trial participants and upgrading all modems to the latest firmware (2.0.10.31 to CODA-4582 and 4.5.8.33 for CGN3 AC series).
It will take me a few days to complete that process.

Thanks Dave.
I have Coda upgraded to .31 and I saw in release notes that USB has been added to GUI. I plugged in a USB 3 NTFS drive after enabling USB on GUI, but drive not showing up on list. Was USB functionality added in .31 or just GUI change?
thank you

The change was strictly in the GUI to allow enabling the functionality. There is still an open item with Intel (the problem is on their side) with support of USB3 devices. A USB2 drive should work correctly.
