Hello Community,

We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.

This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware.  We've invited @RogersSergio@RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread.  Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

Really feded up with Rogers,!

1, No long time ago updated the Router :CGNM-3552 ; Software from the 4.5.8.22. to 4.5.8.27

 2, I'm on the 250/20

3.Time by time the Rogers feed not stable ? Distance from Toronto just 50Km or to much load here in myare in Oshawa, On, or have bad connetions or something else ?

I'm an advisor

@dere61 Can you log into the modem and goto the DOCSIS WAN page and post your signal levels. Have you tried calling Rogers tech support and explain to them you are not getting the speeds you're paying for?

What Happ to @RogersDave he hasn't been for quite some time now , is there any new firmware being released any time soon. For the cgn modems like the rocket ?

I'm trying hard on this one. We have a firmware but it causes issues with WiFi. We are working with Hitron to get another spin but it takes time because we need to reproduce the failure in our lab consistently (which is not the case) to collect the required logs.

I don't use internal CGN WiFi and have no intention to enable it.

If the only issue with the new firmware is the WIFI , can I get it on my modem @RogersDave?

I'd like to test the new firmware too.

Not a problem, I pushed it to your modem (it will take 15-20 minutes to download).

@OL1v3r, you currently have the latest firmware on the CODA-4582: 2.0.10.27.

The firmware that @mrq was mentionning is for Hitron AC series (CGN3ACSMR and CGNM-3552) and is firmware 4.5.8.30. You can check all the firmware versions and all the devices on which they are applicable in this post.

Hi @RogersDave, could you please push the .27 to my modem.  I did a reset and forgot that it reverts back to 26t2.  Thanks!

4.5.8.30 on CGN  has been good so far.

I get close to full speed on my router ( taking into account it is in use and I have QOS enabled ).

I'm in the trial but my firmware on the coda is 26t2, any way to get pushed to .27?

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

@user12343543 can you send a pm to @CommunityHelps with your modem MAC address just to ensure that they have the correct MAC address.  Indicate that you should be at .27 instead of .26T2

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Hi @RogersDave,

I followed the technical support rep's suggestion and factory reset my modem. Would you be able to push it back to 2.0.10.27 please?

Thank you!

Gill

On Coda with .27.  When I upgraded my service from 100/10 to 250/20 they exchanged my modem for the Coda and ever since I have seen a 30-50% daily increase in my daily usage.  My habits haven't changed (browsing, email, etc) and number of devices connected hasn't changed.   I have a couple direct connect Windows PCs and a tablet and phone via wireless, but looking at usage statistics on them the 12-14G / day that the coda is showing doesn't match up.   Is there anything I can use that will show me where this extra usage is coming from?   I have confirmed that there are no spurious wireless connections etc

thanks

I'm here a lot

just signed up for the trial. reset my modem took few mins to get it going with the new firmware but did speed tests everything is the same and my latency dropped from 10ms to 5ms and my jitter 3ms from about 8.  so far so good.

Hi, this is concerning the CGN3ACSMR modem I've had for over a year now.

Maybe about Friday last week, my upload speeds have dramatically become null for some reason. I've seen no new firmware from my modem, download is exactly the same but my upload has fallen tremendously.

For reference here is my overviews.

Is it because I'm on the 100u plan? Are you guys phasing that out? I see you guys have the new 150u one. I don't understand, I was reliably getting 9-10Mb upload a week ago while in Bridge mode with a Netgear R7000. It is now not even reaching 5Mb... I've factory reset both my modem and my router, tested speeds through 7 different sites, no upload result has peaked above 5, yet my download are all in line with my plan. Anything you can shed some light on? Thanks in advance.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

@WBarras call tech support and ask the CSR to run a signal check on the modem.  It might pass, but I doubt it.  All of your downstream levels are low, the signal to noise levels are ok, as are the upstream levels.  Let the CSR about the low upload speeds and any other issues that you might have with cable tv pixelation or audio dropouts.  I would expect the CSR to arrange a tech visit to check out the external cabling and connectors.

Very strange.  Something obviously happened on May 29th.  No usage has dropped dramatically, but house usage pattern and connected devices remains the same.  WAN uptime 7+ days, firmware still at .27  usage.PNG

Anyone who is still using a CGN3 modem should upgrade to the new Coda modem, especially if you're in a DOCSIS 3.1 enabled area.  While my experience with the Coda modem hasn't been perfect, with the latest .27 firmware, it's noticeably better in every way than my the CGN3 I had.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Yes, they're ok.  I'd like to see a tighter grouping on the downstream, but, they're ok.  The uptick on the final two 800 Mhz signal levels is unusual, normally we see those last freqs drop by a large amount, but where they are is fine.  The downstream signal to noise ratios are good as are the upstream signal levels.
