We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.

the .29 and .30 firmwares have issues in gateway mode with wifi so i'm not sure it will give you the stability that you are looking for.

@Stocovick, we do not have a newer firmware version for the CGN3ACSMR but there is something I'm willing to try for you. No garantee at all but it's worth a try.
Can you send me a private message with your modem MAC address and serial number and I'll make a small change for you.

I don't have a date yet. We have tried 2 versions (.29 and .30) and although there is a significant improvement in latency, it causes issues with WiFi.
Hitron's engineers are currently sorting this one out.

I havne't had any WIFI disconnects since I power cycled the modem the day after I recieved 4.5.8.30. This firmware does improve average latency, but it's still not good enough. I still get disconnects and latency spikes in Heroes of the Storm (ping time goes up to 2000ms and stays there for seconds). This happens less frequently compared to 4.5.8.27.
Would you recommend upgrading to the new CODA modem? Also, how do I check if Docsis 3.1 is enabled in my area?

I would reccomend upgrading to the CODA modem. It's much better than the CGN modems in pretty much every aspect, and in your case you should be seeing a decrease in latency in Heroes of the Storm, and maybe we might see the ping spikes go away. With firmware .27 we should be seeing even more improvements.
What city/area do you live in? @RogersMoin can probably check for you 🙂

From what I remember, Mississauga was enabled for D3.1 back in February so I'm almost certain that you should have D3.1 enabled in your area.

Since end of March, we have completed the deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 on the entire cable footprint (Ontario and Atlantic).
And as @RyzenFX mentioned, the CODA with firmware 2.0.10.27 (which will be released to trial participants Monday at the latest, possibly before), brings huge improvements in connection stability and latency.

I recently got updated to 2.0.10.27 on my CODA 4582
Jitter and latency show significant improvement BUT my throughput consistency has suffered ... I'm on the 250/20 plan.

For this test 32ms latency is pretty high.
I generally see 5-8ms when I run that speed test.

I got the Coda 4582 black dot model today. It came with firmware 2.0.10.26T2 out of the box. So far, this modem is rocking. Played 4 HotS matches back to back and not one single disconnect or ping spike so far. This is significantly better than my older CGN3AMR on the latest firmware.
Latency wise, this modem does much better than my old CGN3AMR. Ironically, bufferbloat on this modem is considerably worse than the old AMR. Also, speed tests report higher jitter numbers on this modem.

send a PM to @CommunityHelps with the subject "coda firmware trial" provide you account number, modem serial number, and modem MAC address. The last two can be found when you log in to the modem. The latest .27 firmware offers huge latency and bufferbloat fixes.

I've updated your MAC address in the trial participants lists and pushed the latest firmware to your CODA. You should see an improvement now.

Did a couple of tests after rebooting the unit. Jitter is significantly down compared to the previous firmware. Upstream bufferbloat is also improved (I don't think it went over 10ms during the test vs 600ms on the previous firmware). Downstream bufferbloat has not improved.

Glad to hear that uplink performance has improved, there was a lot of work done around that.
Regarding downlink, was it better with your previous (non-CODA) modem?
My current working assumptions are the following:
The CODA-4582 with firmware 2.0.10.27 is the best configuration we ever had in terms of uplink performance. Some users still have issues but it is likely caused by local RF issues / load and not the modem itself. This modem/firmware combination works better than any previous modem we had.
For downlink performance, there is really not much difference between our modems (although Puma 6 lineup tend to introduce additional delays).
Does it make sense?

I just noticed that I was updated to .27 and my performance has degraded pretty significantly from .26T2. I'm in Mississauga and on Docsis 3.1.
With 26T2 I'd get 900+ down and 30 up. On .27 I get 500 down at most and uplink seems to cap at 5-10 on most tests.
Any insights?
