Hello Community,

We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.

This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware.  We've invited @RogersSergio@RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread.  Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

I plan to stick around

Just received .24 on my modem. So far seems very good. Speeds are very good.

I've been around

For some reason you rolled back from .30 to .24, and now my download speed is 3mbs, down from 250mbs

Sorry that should read. from .23 to .24 (wrote it down wrong)

UPDATE: Rebooted a couple of times, and speeds back to normal.

I was on .19 then went to .23 and am now on .24.

What's new with the .24 firmware? Was it posted somewhere?

Just received .24 before I got home. Speeds seem good. Noticed the info about the firmware as a tentative fix to speed degradation over time. Let's hope so 😉

I'm here a lot

I had issues accessing my NAS drive with .13.  This was fixed with .23.  Now on .24 and I can longer access the NAS once again.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Have you tried a modem restart/reboot?  If not, give that a go.  Pull the power, wait for 30 seconds and plug the power back in.  If that doesn't work, consider running a factory reset and see if that fixes the NAS issue.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Thanks for the suggestion, tried both options and neither fixed the issue.

I'm on .24 since yesterday afternoon and LAN access to NAS is working for me.

Try IP directly first. Clicking on NAS in the Network Explorer should point to server web page in the format of http://192.168.X.X/

If this works then try to disconnect mapped drive (remove mapped link not the power) and remap it again using \\192.168.X.X\Share

If this works again then you have a different problem in your set up probably not modem related.

I've been there myself 😉

I plan to stick around

So I went from .19 to trial f/w of .23 - didnt have to do anything left it as is, came home yesterday after work to see that .24 was pushed to the modem (really saw no change and still affected by the speed decrease).

I power cycled the modem thinking this would help resolve anything outstanding, still same as before.

I then decided to factory reset the modem just for the heck of it but saved the config file to my computer before his the reset.

Connected to the modem and got it setup partially so that the restore of the config file would do the rest.  Unfortunately after uploading the config file nothing changed, it never restored any previous settings and everything had to be reconfigured from scratch again.  But before doing that I then decided to try an old config file I saved from a month back after get the .19 f/w update.  This also took about 5+ mins to complete and once again, nothing.

I then said screw it and and knew that the new f/w fixed the issue of my D-Link from not getting an IP which is perfect and put the modem in to bridge mode.

After getting my my router working - I now have 100x better wireless performance compared to the coda, but I am still lacking from the lan speed on a wired connection going from 950 to a 750 down, the speed tests ramp up very quickly as previous and then as it reaches the peak speed it doesnt stay there, it actually starts to drop down slowly until the speed test complete's its test.

@RogersDave Whatever was changed from the .19 to .23 f/w needs to be reviewed.  I like some of the new features that were added to the .23 but those really have no use to me if I am using my own router.

Maybe you should see if it's possible to have two firmware types, one for people who keep their modems in bridge mode and other who use their modems as their main router.

@RogersDave   .24 is a bit better but still have to reboot. As a daytrader this can cost me a LOT of money.

.24 has been good for me so far. 22h uptime and counting. Haven't got past 12h before since docsis 3.1 was turned on.

Tech came today and said wiring from outside to inside was loose as well as some other poor wiring inside, so he fixed.   Not sure if it made any difference, do these specs look good?

@dmbcanda your signals on the downstream look fine but I would look into the Signal noise ratio. The lines seem a bit high on noise. I would recommend calling tech support and get them to run a signal check to your modem. I had a similar signal noise ratio and it caused packet loss.

Thanks, I contacted support and they said they are seeing some noise issues in the neighbourhood and they have escalated it to engineering, so we'll see.   Still very frustrating.

@dmbcanda I can just imagine how frustrating it can be, hopefully they fix the issue sooner than later. I'm having an issue with download and upload issues due to high utilization on the node. I wish everything was computerized to correct all these issues on their own especially during the night when systems are being updated.

I'll give this a try once I'm home this evening.

CODA-4582  1A  2.0.10.24

I can also vouch for SMB working since .23.  I can access my LAN NAS from my wireless phones and other wireless devices via SMB.  Check your workgroup values on your devices, they should match.   Without a workgroup, you should be able to access your shares via raw IP.

Also have unable to connect to a couple of Counter Strike Global Offensive servers. Friend who also has Rogers with the original CODA has no problems connecting to these servers. Could it be possible that Rogers is blocking me from connecting to specific servers? Or is there something i need to change in my router settings. Turning off Firewall and Antivirus has in impact on whether i can connect or not. This started happening after my router got upgraded to .23
