Hello Community,
We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.
This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware. We've invited @RogersSergio, @RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread. Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

I have been in discussion all morning with multiple parties regarding the speed issues.
I am currently looking for a customer to work with. If you fall into these categories, reach out to me via private message:
Thanks
Dave

Ok, so, previously with the 3552, the shares where connected to the 3552 and you had no trouble connecting via wireless bridge.
Now, with the 4582, shares connected to the 4582, those shares are no longer accessible.
Just want to make sure that I have that correct.
It certainly looks like either a permissions issue or a bug. Have you pinged off of tech support to determine if there are any settings available only to tech support that might affect this? I suspect that @RogersDave might be a better source of info on this at the moment. Just depends whether or not the staff tested this prior to release.

Anyone else having dns issues? Started late last night and this morning, just logging into gmail or loading a page will cause it to half load (the css theme for example is dead just text) or i get a DNS resolution error in chrome. Switching off googles DNS to Rogers (which i dont mind but i preferr googles) has helped but its still a little wonky.

- Since upgrading to a CODA-4582 modem, speeds dropped below 50 Mbps
- You do not live in an condo or large apartment building
- You are available today to perform additional speed testing
Thanks
Dave
My speeds are not sub 50 mbps today but they are definitly low and ive been havintg some mad dns resolution issues. starting last night.
I'm willing to do some tests if you like. Currently im getting 120 mbps down and 20 up. thats the lowest ive ever seen it typically im never below 200 mbps down.

@RogersDave Well i figured out my DNS issue i posted about 3 psost back, Im getting some mad packet loss 50% losswhen i ping anything thats giving me issues like googles video servers. Its all lost at the CMTS 99.244.0.1
Ifi ping the cmts directly its fine.
No other packets are lost in any other hops, I know this ihas been reported before but take note that the CMTS is the only loss in these pings now and i am having issues loading pages and dns issues. Makes me thing this loss is not cosmetic but an actual issue.

@robck there have been issues connecting with and using shares on previous modems. I'm trying to remember the details, but the share format comes to mind. Have a look for previous posts on the issue of using the USB ports or shares. I don't have time today to look for that, so, hopefully you will be able to come across those fairly easily. @VivienM is probably a better RE to advise you on this issue.

Hi @RogersDave the Nexus 6 connects and disconnects so far from stable but iPads are fine however the 5G speed is slower than the 2.4 for download upload is VERY fast though.
In order to get the phone to connect I must enter airplane mode first.

@RogersDave just to let you know I'm on the new CODA-4582 Modem so if there is any new Beta Firmware for this Modem just let me and us know.
Thanks,

@RogersDave I just installed the CODA-4582 and my speeds are significantly below what I should be getting with the Gigabit offerings [1].
[1] https://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/7438706
I am available for testing right now.
On speedtest.net -- signficantly worse

Decided to do some testing @RogersDave
Test wired to port 1 - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5886104539
Test wired to port 4 - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5886112484
done seconds apart, ive only posted the two tests but ive been alternating for the past hour and the results are always the same port 1 can barly break 200 mbps, but its been lower consistently all day. Port 4 just screams up to 330 mbps. Consistently.
Only difference. Different IP address, which may mean im terminatin g some where else.
NOTE: i might have the port annotations backwards, its a pain crawling behind my gear. but i know i have one plugged in to top most port and one plugged into the bottom most.

Just ran a speedtest (figured id see what was happening at night)
279.55 DL
8.07 UL
36ms latency
63ms jitter
seems everything just gets periodically worse

Just got done a night of twitch streaming Jackbox 3. It was unusable on My rogers ocnnection, be it on my own router bridged, dirrect connection bridged, or with the rogers modems in gateway mode.
I set my Telus Galaxy S7 to hotspot mode, connected up and it worked fine, however No one in canada can afford that bandwidth on a cellular connection so i had to resort to a friend hosting who was on DSL with a 1 MBps upload and it was hillarously better, it was so sad it was funny, but then sad again....
Something has definitly went sideways here as my first night with the new modem was glorious.

Just did a speedtest with the Coda-4582 in Gateway mode hardwired via ethernet with Wifi enabled and disabled and saw drastic results for myself:
Wifi OFF:
Wifi ON:
I will next do a test in Bridged mode to see if that makes any futher difference. But to me it looks like the CODA does not have enough juice to run.

Thanks @RogersDave ! Its the xbox issues that are the worst, atleats on the computer the internet is usable, Xbox live and twitch streaming is not usable. Google dns or rogers it does not matter, everything including speed tests and content downloads is slow on the Console.

This is an interesting observation but I need to understand correctly the test scenario. Is your modem in bridge mode or gateway?
When you compare port 1 and port 4, are you using the same computer/laptop?
