Hello Community,
We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.
This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware. We've invited @RogersSergio, @RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread. Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

@zardoz99 Appreciate the feedback on the speed issue.
We do have the login issue on the board to be resolved in an upcoming patch, but don't have a date as of yet .
Sorry I know its a pain point.
Thanks,
RogersIan

Hello Everyone,
Still hoping to get more feedback on the new revision of 7.1.1.37 particularly in regards to 5Ghz wireless and the unii-1 band i.e. using channels 36-48.
We made some improvements to the power tables to resolve connectivity/throughput issues so I am very curious to know your experience.
Regards,
RogersIan

@RogersIan so far so good using channels 36-48 and my 2 wireless phones and one Laptop about 10 to 20 meters away as I run mine in Gateway mode! 😉

The revised .37 update has been really stable so far. No issues whatsoever. However, would like to see the login issue fixed in an update in the near future.
@RogersIan Exciting news- my area was enabled for OFDMA this morning. Is there anything I should look for with this change and was it enabled to provide a minor capacity uplift?

@RogersIan @RyzenFX Yes we need more and more Upload speed! 😁 30Mbps sucks!

Looks like the power levels for U-NII-1 and U-NII_3 are back to normal. I ran some tests using 80MHz channels on the 5Ghz band and noticed while switching channels, the router becomes unstable with IP connections on wired and wireless. I never set my 5GHz band to, "auto", for channel selection. I usually choose 149 as it is a higher power level. Even with contention with my neighbours, it works better than CH36 at 80MHz. It was the other way around when the U-NII-1 power level was changed in previous firmware.

this build is quite stable so far. no 10/10 speed issue with bridge mode. Not sure what the OFDMA thing is but it is saying operate for me as well.

Modem : V 1A
S/W : 7.1.1.37
Upstream/Downstream Data Normal
Issues:
Initially when .37 was rolled-back ……Speeds OK not great….. but now after two weeks it’s beginning to deteriorate.
Attached charts from May 15th (V .35) and today June 21st (V.37) show the decline in last 2 weeks.
More needs to be done to get consistency without any dropouts. 😞😓

I have signal like that at my office. What is unusual is the low frequency drop off (as opposed to the typical high frequency roll off). Not sure why that happens. At my office pings to the first hop vary during the day from 14ms to 50ms and upload speeds from 21 mbps to 4 mbps. Not sure if it is congestion or noise but the variations happen at different times of the day.

[CODA-4582U] No OFDM/OFDMA available - Information from DOCSIS 3.0 corrupt messed up:
Looks like the info being reported is.. um messed up or corrupt. The modem went down around 2:30am this morning (when Rogers seems to do maintenance), I can see Downstream DOCSIS 3.0 info fine with SNR.
I note the modem shows both light blue for upstream/downstream channels, so ODFM/OFDMA doesn't seem to be active, so maybe some Rogers folks can chime in here, no DOCSIS 3.1 for me 😞. But, we all want DOCSIS 4.0 anyway 😄

@ffdhfhf did you reboot/restart the modem to see if the signal level tables return to normal? If so, are the posted tables following a reboot/restart? If those were posted prior to a reboot/restart, can you post the current tables, just to see how they look now?
07-09-2021 05:10 PM
I'll restart the moment now and confirm the output..that fixed it, though both lights are light blue so no ODFM/ODFMA for me yet...
The modem showed these errors in log on start:
- Missing Mandatory MDD TLV on primary DS Channel
- RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power in Excess of 6 dB Below the Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW
Both of those ones are new to me, but otherwise back to standard DOCSIS 3.0.

We have new CODA-4582 firmware coming down the pipe.
This build is another new SDK which we have been working on for some time and feel its just about ready for the spotlight.
The version number for those interested is 7.2.4.1.4
Features are
DOCSIS stability improvements - seeing lots of improvements in the field
Gateway/WiFi cloud management
Improved telemetry data
The plan at the moment is to roll the code out to the community in stages beginning in the next week.
Regards,
RogersIan

What does this mean? Will the Ignite WiFi Hub (or a functional equivalent) now manage the CODA gateways?
