Hello Community,

We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.

This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware.  We've invited @RogersSergio@RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread.  Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

mine is still on .35T1

I plan to stick around

Also downgraded today back to 2.0.10.34T6 from 2.0.10.35T1

35T1 was much better with regard to stability and IPSec VPN speeds.

How do we get 35T1 back?

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

@mcsandy@Datalink@WestPoint

@Datalink you are correct, we have been working with the vendor to resolve the real world performance challenges with OFDM on both the device and network. Unfortunately it has taken longer than we had hoped to get this completed but it is coming soon (please don't ask me to quantify what soon means :))

The above is only for the downstream at this time. We are working through a plan to be able to provide upstream support but that is definitely a longer term plan that is likely not going to be deployed till later in the year.

Cheers,

RogersSergio

Thanks for the update.

I  have noticed that when the modem is set to SNTP time function after several days the modem starts to lose time. After 7 days it had lost 12 seconds, when I had the modem running longer it had lost over 20 seconds. Not sure if its syncing properly?

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

@mcsandy

not sure if this issue has been seen in the past but i will send it back to our test team to validate

Thanks,

Hello

Last night I lost internet connection at 2 am and it came back up around 5 am. I also got the firmware downgraded. I did a Speedtest and got 250/20 test results from the Rogers speed site. I used to get close to 600 on my 500 bit plan. What’s going on and why are my speeds dropping? The signal levels look fine and am wondering if the firmware or the outage is to blaim. Postal code is m1c4z2

thanks

Is there any way to get firmware 2.0.10.35T1 back?

34T6 is noticeably much worse handling traffic over IPSec.  Definitely not placebo effect.

Yep, me too.

I'm wondering if a serious issue has been discovered in 35T1.. I'm suspecting that it was somewhat unstable as I have been seeing a lot of disconnects from client systems.

I have the Hitron CODA-4582 and Gigabit plan.  I just chatted via Twitter with Support to test my slow speeds.  I have the 2.0.10.35T1 firmware and they said the issue is with that as I am not even hitting 300MB down on a 1GB plan!

They are going to downgrade my firmware for me to fix this apparently to the previous one.  Just FYI for those that see speed problems on high speed plans.

@mcsandy - I am not posting my MAC address...

No one seems to bother with the issues. I need someone to come and fix this please.

Please can someone tell me if these signal strengths are ok?? My speeds are TERRIBLE!

I am getting 110/ 20 - No one is bothering to fix the issues. Why pay for 500u when you get such terrible quality and service??

@CChilderhose

Were you downgraded?  I've tried chat support to go back to 2.0.10.35T1 and they said they cannot push firmware.

So I'm curious what is being done for you to get you downgraded if it's not via a push.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

They ar e pushing me back to 34T6 as 35T1 has issues. It is remote push.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

I tried over chat to get the upgrade back, they said call and reach second level to deal with firmware issues.

Called and supposedly reached second level.  He said you're on the old firmware.

I said yes it was restored for some reason to the old one and I'd like the new one back.

He could do nothing except open a ticket to get it back to 2.0.10.35T1 no time frame.

The upgrade was there for almost 1 week with no issues and a big improvement to IPSec VPN bandwidth.  Fluke or not it was there.  I would have preferred to keep it as I have not experienced any connectivity or slowness 35T1 may or may not be causing.

It's because your not supposed to contact regular customer support regarding the trial firmware. Did you reach out to @CommunityHelps

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Sorry if there is an etiquette to this.  It was not obvious.

I never specifically asked to be on the trial except perhaps indirectly through another thread where I complained about IPSec VPN speeds.  It happens to "fix" the VPN speeds so I would like to remain on this version.

Incidentally support knew about 35T1 and said it was the latest available.

@CommunityHelps how do I get back to 35T1

I believe its just more of they are unaware of what is happening with it. Also i would just PM @CommunityHelps directly with your question. Someone should answer you very quickly.

How are you testing the speeds?  You can try the Rogers speed test site or this one:  http://speedtest-tor1.digitalocean.com/

Are you using a wired CAT5E or CAT6 cable or from WIFI?  WIFI is never reliable and if you are using 2.4 Ghz WIFI you won't get much higher than what you currently get.

Do you have any devices that are 5 Ghz?  Run a speedtest on that to see if it is better

Try temporarily disabling your anti virus as that can also slow your speed down

I also got downgraded, but I also saw the MASSIVE upgrade that was there before they did this, and Im sure there was SOME glitch with SOMEONEs system, but did they really need to downgrade us, they couldnt patch the issues?

I just about lost all my speed again.. I recently posted i had close too 750Mbps speedtest finally, and now im back too less than 300Mbps tests...

Im just about done with this Rogers flip-flopping while my nextdoor neighbour has Bell Fibre, and I have run lost of tests on his internet and I max out my hardware before I get any signal issues on testing, and I never have an issue gaming on his Wifi, that he allows me too do because ive shown him soooo many times his WIFI from his house to my living room supplies better and consistant speeds 300% better than my own Rogers Gigabit service from these CODA modems, with my modem being only 15ft away. PITT-A-FULL is all I have to say now about these problems. by this point, Rogers should have switched Manufactures or put the ENTIRE IT staff working on mass testing and patching and fix these issues before they loose most of the GTA when people like myself finally give up for good, cancel our accounts, and stop posting are issues here, and start posting them on Social Media and that we are done doing Rogers testing for them, esspecially since we are at 1.5years and have little to no real, measureable, improvement for the average everyday user, just security patches and a few other things.

My new Security system is also now being effected becasuse Im pay $100/month to back up my 12 channel camera system to a secure Cloud System for 30days minimum. I cannot upload fast enough or download fast enough to get the footage uploaded or stream the cameras off site.

This is ridiculous. I cant use my premium paid online services, becuase Rogers is constanly limiting my ability to access the Internet with the stability and consistancy I pay for, and that is OUTRAGOUS, esspecially since the United Nations Declared Internet Access a Basic Human Right back in 2011!!!! 7 years and you cant find a modem/router manufacturer that can make anything better than this???

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

I plan to stick around

Just got downgraded from 35T1 to 34T6 and my 1GB package is now just that.  Getting 900+MB download and 30+MB upload speeds on Speedtest.net.

That is how it should be.
