Hello Community,
We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.
This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware. We've invited @RogersSergio, @RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread. Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

.29 .30. 31 have better latency than .27
If you are a bridge mode user I would request it, the issues that I see with it are only in Gateway mode.

Why what's wrong with .31 firmware on the 3gn modem when it comes to wifi it doesn't work or wifi is just weak ? On .27 wifi was fine
Some users have reported with .31 the WiFi won't work at all, as in no lights on the modem, and no broadcasting 2.4 or 5Ghz.

can you push it to me please
You need to sign up for the beta firmware trial. To join the program you need to send a PM to @CommunityHelps With the subject "beta firmware trial" include your account number, modem serial number, and modem MAC address. You can find this when you log in to the modem.

.29 and .30 both worse in terms of consistency of speed.
On .27 i would get 930/50 most of the time, now most of the time i get about 850/20. Also the upload portion of the rogers speedtest often times out now, it never used to.
Could just be the neighborhood, but it seems to line up with when i got .29.
Note that my modem is in bridge mode and my tests are wired from the same PC.

also just noticed that in the modem logs, i am getting many more T3 timeouts and DHCP renew warnings. I used to get 1 a day, now i have 4 or so a day.
Also got a T4 timeout, which i don't believe i have seen before.
Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out |

@DaveFro If you wish, you can reset the modem to factory default via modem interface. It would force the modem to reset to firmware 2.0.10.27.
I've have noticed many users complain about how general speed test performance has decreased due to this firmware, hopefully we get a new build soon that could fix these issues.

To also add, I have noticed in my logs that my DHCP always renews every day at the same time (23:50:24) ever since the update to firmware 2.0.10.30. Before, I was on firmware 2.0.10.29 and I had no issues with DHCP whatsoever.
Also, I have noticed that the bug which shows the modem is not connected to an OFDM carrier in the interface has appeared again. The interface doesn't show a lock to an OFDM carrier, despite the downlink LED being light-blue. The problem occurs on both OFDM and OFDMA.
Here's a screenshot of the OFDM Interface problem:

IS OFDMA supposed to show as DISABLED?

I've already submitted to get the next firmware version about 3 weeks ago and am still on 27. The big issue with this modem is that it constantly drops the wifi connection on our cell phones without signalling us that wifi is unavailable. In the end we are using cell phone data and getting overage charges from Fido. My data plan cycles every 22nd and I already received notice that in over 91% usage for 5gigs. I've tried to read through the forum but can't find anything to help resolve our problem. Can you please help OR am I forced to wait for the next firmware upgrade?
What cell phone are you using? If an Android device you can set up warnings at say 2GB so you can keep track of your data. Also once the WiFi Icon disappears you are no longer using WiFi. Regardless if you want the Beta firmware then send a PM to @CommunityHelps with the subject "Beta Firmware Trial" in the message include your Rogers Account Number, Modem Serial Number, and Modem MAC address.
However with all that said, don't expect WiFi miracles, all Gateways are known for having weak WiFi. I would HIGHLY suggest getting a third party Router and putting the Gateway into "bridge" mode. I've owned a few WiFi Routers and the TP-Link C3150 has the best speed/range that I've seen.

HI. Using iPhone. What you said about the wifi signal is not what's happening here. I have an iPhone but haven't seen the warning settings fur data usage as I've seen in android devices. Though I'm in the same room as the gateway modem and though the wifi symbol was still showing on my phone I was not able to use the wifi to connect to the net. See below the warning I still receive even after the upgrade last night to v.29.
MIMO Event MIMO: Stored MIMO=-1 post cfg file MIMO=-1;CM-MAC=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;CMTS-MAC=00:17:10:91:0f:a5;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;
@CommunityHelps @RogersDave this is the same error I keep having during complete loss of wifi. What advice can you give?

@ishine80 I'm wondering if this is an IPV6 issue? Has this problem existed since Rogers enabled IPV6 late last year? On the firmware that you have loaded on the modem, check for an operating mode in the BASIC .... RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY tab. The mode will indicate IPV4, IPV6, or Dual Stack (IPV4 and IPV6). Dual Stack is the default. If that setting is there, select IPV4, save the change and wait for the modem to revert to IPV4 mode only, or reboot the modem using the ADMIN .... DEVICE RESET .... Reboot funtion. Although the modem will revert to another mode if selected, I personally prefer to reboot the modem, fwiw. If that mode selection is present and you have kicked the modem into IPV4 mode only, give the iphone a try and see what happens with the web access. Please let us know how this turns out.
The MIMO event is a DOCSIS MIMO event. Perhaps that points to a signal issue that might be causing problems. With that in mind, can you log into the modem, copy the STATUS .... DOCSIS WAN downstream and upstream tables and paste those into a post. The copy and paste process will paste in the text contents of the tables.

Hi, long time since I've visited here since getting upgraded on the Rocket modem when it first came out.
Just realized for a long time actually that my Ecobee3 smart thermostat is no longer able to connect to the WiFi, just getting a DHCP error, tried entering it as a static IP on the ecobee and it still won't connect to the router.
Any idea why this could have happened? I never noticed when it went down, but when I spoke to some of the house members, they mentioned its been down for a very long time, a few months at least.
Is this a known bug with the first batch of modems? Or is it the beta firmware? Or maybe a simple setting I'm missing in the router page somewhere?
*I've restarted the ecobee (and the Rocket modem) and even factory reset it, but no difference, it doesn't connect to our WiFi.

When I used my CODA in Gateway mode my Ecobee 3 did the exact same thing, after about a week it wouldn't get an IP address. You could try to log into to the modem and set the DHCP lease time to "forever"
