Hello Community,

We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.

This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware.  We've invited @RogersSergio@RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread.  Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

I plan to stick around

I have 2.0.10.24 on Coda and have been very unstable connection also for last 24 or so.  Traceroutes to normally stable paths are showing timeouts and my vpn connection to known ip 80km is dropping multiple times per hour.

I'm in the Cambridge, Ontario area.

Yes, I am from London, Ontario. I called Rogers and they confirmed that my street is affected. We had some rough winds yesterday which may have caused the problem. I will be getting a notification when it gets resolved.

Looking at canadianoutages page Rogers has major issues this evening. Looking at last 24 hours there are a lot of reports of issues.

I'm having massive packet loss myself several hops down.  I've been having the issue for the past few days now.  Wondering if this is what the problem is for most.  Good luck watching youtube. (this traceroute/mtr is for youtube)

Try power cycling the device, some have found that to work (unplug the power cable from the back of the modem for a minimum of 30-sec. and then plug it back in.

Last night the firmware was installed on my CGNM-3552. Today, my WiFi is not listed on the connections list. I tried forgetting the network, but that did not work. I checked, the SSID and password remained the same.

Did you try power cycling your device (removing the power cable from the back for a minimum of 30sec.) and if that fails, maybe resetting the device to factory defaults.  One other thing you can check is to see if your SSID's are set to visible or invisible broadcasting.

Re: FEEDBACK - Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem Firmware Trial

Log in to your router and check your firewall setting make sure IPv4 and IPv6 is set to minimum I was having the same issue as you on and off now it's seems okay.

My 2.4GHz is broadcasting, I did shutdown my 5GHz a while back. I can re-enable that. If I perform a factory reset, will I lose the trial firmware?

I've been here awhile

Recently upgraded to DOCSIS 3.1, and .24 firmware is stable and performs well.

Tested at 930 down/34 up, with minimal bufferbloat.

So my Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite arrived... so I stuck my .24 CODA into bridge mode with my 250/20 connection and as long as I do not enable eth1 and eth2 bridge mode (br0) and the hardware accelleration stays on I get 330mbit down/20mbit up very consistently while at 16-17% CPU usage max. With eth1 and eth2 bridged as br0 I get 130mbit max and 100% cpu usage... so yeah, as long as you are happy with not using eth2 for anything (and just connecting a switch to eth1 [I have an 8 port switch in one room and a 16 in another and two APs with 4 ports each elsewhere]) then the Edgerouter Lite is quite good. I dont' see why it wouldn't handle gigabit with ease. I have to enable a site-to-site ipsec VPN to my work firewall and I haven't messed with QoS on it yet, but I might some day... hopefully that doesnt' disable the hardware accelleration (I haven't checked out what features enable/disable it yet...).... but so far for $135 it is definitely a nice little gigabit-WAN-capable router.

Happy to have hair pinning NAT back as well (I seemed to have lost that with CODA .24).

Great that users in this thread mentioned the Edgerouter... glad I switched to it.

if you factory reset you will still have the current firmware (trial version)

I just built a pfsense box using an old Core 2 Quad setup, I must say I should've done pfsense years ago! Using my pfsense box and my new TP-Link Archer C3150 as an access point I am able to do speed tests over wifi at 800Mb/s download! When I had the CODA in Gateway mode, from the same spot (12 feet from router) I could only pull 550-600Mb/s. It's awesome seeing a speed test at 800Mb/s over wifi!

Anyone considering pfsense, DO IT, you wont be disappointed, also the TP-Link C3150 is an excellent MU MIMO Router, I have much better range now, and the connection is more stable.

The major difference is that you have a Core 2 Quad running at 2.4 Ghz, doing just firewall and router duties versus a router CPU running at a maximum of 1.4 or 1.7 Ghz doing everything including wifi.  And, you now have a separate CPU just for wifi duties.  Your speeds are a good example of why I've been saying to various forum users to consider something like PfSense, OpenSense or Sophos firewall/router and a stand alone wifi access point. From what I've read, the PfSense site doesn't say it, but you need something above a 2 Ghz processor to run gigabit speeds.  I'd be interested if you're running Snort and / or Suricata as well.
