Hello Community,
We are currently offering our users an exclusive opportunity to participate in an upcoming trial of the new firmware for our Rocket Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3ACR, CGN3AMR and CGN3ACSMR) and Rocket Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem (CGN3552 and CODA-4582). For details of this program, please see this thread.
This thread will be used for feedback regarding the firmware. We've invited @RogersSergio, @RogersSyd & @RogersBob from our Networking team to participate in this thread. Your feedback is very valuable and will be used to enhance the firmware before it is released publicly.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

@RogersDave Please include me in the .19 firmware too. I currently have .17 but WiFi signal & speed is still not great.
12-28-2016 06:24 PM
@RogersDave My speed is even worse tonight and support keeps pointing to issues on my side. I turned the rogers modem off and disconnected all devices and then started the modem. I then connected a cat 6 cable to my laptop and turned off kaspersky (after making sure no viruses/malware exists) and ran the rogers speedtest. This is the speed I get with my 1 GB service:
Hopefully the new firmware fixes the issues or else I am wishing I was back with Teksavvy. At least my 100/10 internet speed was rock solid and the modem was stable.
Thanks

Hopefully, mine will be upgraded to .19 tonight and fix bridge mode issue

Hi Dave,
I recently got Ignite Gigabit with a new CODA-4582 and speeds have been far from whats supposed to be and quite unstable, I am using an enterprise grade WatchGuard firewall capable of 3.2 Gbps firwall throughput and the best I can get is about 500 / 30 Mbps but it considerably varies through the day and normally much slower than that:
I have tried connecting my laptop directly to the modem to rule out any problem with the WatchGuard and get similar speeds. Also before finding this thread I called support and a technitian came to my house, he said the signal was good and he could not figure out why the speed was not as it should, he called a supervisor who also came and they took my modem and plugged it directly to the node on the street, they said the speed was a little better not not significantly and then told me they would escalate the case to Maintenance to see if there was anything they could do.
The modem is setup in Bridge mode, I do not have any Wi-Fi close to it and am currently using port 4 only, this is the signal page from the modem:
Could you please please take a look at my modem and see if there is any problem with it? I'll PM you my MAC address, also please add the list to get the new firmware too, maybe that helps...
Thank you for your help in advance and Happy Holidays!

I also received .19 - performance so far seems fine. I'll test a bit more as the day goes on. This firmware has the same problem though as .18 did with Connected Devices not showing up. I have one device showing on the list and it seems to be the same device that shows all the time. The rest don't appear no matter how many times I restart.
Does anyone know if the problem with a router not receiving an IP from the modem is corrected?

@RogersDave thanks for sending me the latest firmware. Sadly, the speeds are still pathetic. I have a technician scheduled between 12-2 Friday to Trouble shoot the problem. If you can scan the Rogers network in my area to see what the problem is that would be helpful. I scheduled the appointment with the @CommunityHelps folks and am not sure if they know the network as well as you do. My gut says they will just waste my time and try to point the problem at me instead of the infrastructure. My speed experience is shared my others on this forum so I don't think I am at fault. Let's see what happens or else I will have to look at other options for resolution.
thanks

@RogersDaveare you still working on developments for the ACSMR? Is there still going to be a .28 or higher released? Just curious to know as I have no desire to move away from this modem anytime soon until much of the CODA/Rogers issues are resolved.
Thanks,

Yes we are still expecting an updated firmware on the Intel Puma 6 line of devices (including CGN3ACSMR) but I haven't heard any firm date yet. This is mostly in the hands of Intel at this point.

Yikes, from .14 to .19 and from 100dn/40up on 1gb plan to 17dn/3up, 20ping, 11jitter. I feel like I'm on dial-up now, hehee.
12-29-2016 09:05 AM
I forgot to mention that I am on the 250/20 plan
in terms of speeds I am getting 330/22 on all different speedtest.
It seems the only people having issues with slow speed are GIGABIT customers.
Trying to reach GIGABIT speed on DOCSIS 3.0 is not a great idea, they should waited for DOCIS 3.1 to be live before advertising the GIGABIT PLAN, but I understand Rogers wants to compete with Bell Gigabit over FTTH.
However with Bell you truly get gigabit without the blufferboat, jitter and ping going crazy.
On a positive note, I am sure DOCSIS 3.1 will fix many issues we are curently experience and improve our customer experience by a mile. can't come fast enough!

Along with the Connected Devices list being blank, my SPA112 VOIP ATA will no longer connect to the network since .19 last night ....

Some of you received a targeted firmware deployment last night for CODA-4582 and their modem got upgraded to version 2.0.10.19.
After this upgrade, if you are getting extremely low speeds, the first thing to do is to try to reboot the modem and retest using a wired computer. If that doesn't help, in some cases it might be advisable to perform a factory reset from the GUI.
The speeds on the modem, especially if there is some interference issues may take up to 10 minutes to stabilize after the modem has started. Performance should be tested after that point using a wired device and using http://speedcheck.rogers.com/en.html
There is a known issue that we are tracking whereas in some cases, device may not show up in the list of connected devices. This is not service impacting in any way but it has been tracked as a problem since the original 2.0.10.13 version.

I got the .19 update for CODA and it's not great. I couldn't even use my internet. I originally posted this on my phone using LTE because I practically couldn't do it with my internet but after many resets I got decent speeds backs. Furthermore I cannot see connected devices on my router it's just blank and some devices are not auto connecting to the router. Please fix this.
@shawnie, I can look at your modem more specifically but will need your MAC address. If you still have an issue following the above instructions, please send me a private message with your MAC address and I will have a look.
@jjunge wrote:Does anyone know if the problem with a router not receiving an IP from the modem is corrected?
@jjunge, Some customers have reported that this firmware helped with getting an IP in bridge mode but it was not officially fixed so I'd like more feedback.

@Alex4161, I checked your modem and it doesn't seem to be performing well at all. The technician after checking your signal levels should swap your modem for a new one.

@JohnBeaudin, based on the above, your WiFi performance is better than your wired performance. I checked your LAN switch and it seems you have a device on your network operating at 100 Mbps which may be create head of line blocking (port 2). Would you be able to retest without this device connected and message me with information about this device so that I can understand better your problem.
@jjunge wrote:Along with the Connected Devices list being blank, my SPA112 VOIP ATA will no longer connect to the network since .19 last night ....
@jjunge, is your SPA112 a 100 Mbps only device? If so, could you disconnect it and reconnect it from the modem. It may take a few seconds but let me know if the port comes up.
12-29-2016 09:44 AM
@RogersDave I've done a factory reset on the CODA and the SPA112 came online. However any time I add DHCP reservations it goes offline again. Rogers gateways have never handled DHCP reservations well but hoping it works better in future firmware versions.
As far as connected devices goes, I had no issues with .13 or .14 - the problem started with .18 before I was rolled back and now with .20 as well.
I've had to stop using my NAS completely with this modem. It connects, and I can access the config pages using the IP, however it will not communicate with my network otherwise and I can't connect to it. I've tried everything and have given up for now.
Are you able to take a look at my modem and see if all is performing as it should?

My Device is a Yealink SIP-T22P IP Phone that I use for my job.
-The Yealink is blinking in green that means it indeed only negociate to 100 mb/s I don't think it's possible for this device go negociate more thant that.
I left only my computer plugged in

When you say your device is going offline, is it the Ethernet port down or it doesn't have connectivity?
As far as connected devices goes, I had no issues with .13 or .14 - the problem started with .18 before I was rolled back and now with .20 as well.

I discussed this with Hitron and they asked for the model of your NAS as they would like to perform more testing.
Are you able to take a look at my modem and see if all is performing as it should?
I will
