Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

Anyone else experiencing speed drops to 100 mbps while in bridge mode? If I turn the gateway mode back on and run a speed test my speeds go back to normal.
I don't think it's my router because it only started to happen since upgrading to the coda.

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

What is the consensus or official recommendation, if such exists, on getting the CODA modem factory resetted / rebooted?

Do we do it via the admin panel, or by manually unplugging it (for reboot) and pressing the button on the back of the modem (for factory reset)? I recall the CGNs had issues with the actual button and Datalink advised using the admin panel instead. Is it the same for CODA as well?

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

I was chatting to tech support in FB messenger and was told that Jan 20 2017 they will be swapping the black dot CODA modems for a next batch.  Apparently the first batch was not good.

Anyone else hear this?

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

@Vikentieff I've used everything that you mentioned and never had any issues with any of them.  For a simple reboot I have the power cord plugged into a switch, so, off ..... on.  Same as uplugging the power cord from the socket and plugging it back in.  It just depends on whats easier, using the user interface or fighting thru all of the computer cables to get to the power cord end.

As for the factory reset, I also use both, the user interface and the reset button at the back of the modem.  I don't have any preferences and both have worked for me without any issues.

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation - Lost channels with 2.4 Ghz on?

@RogersDave @Datalink

I am just wonder if anyone else has a situation where enabling 2.4 Ghz results in the modem losing download channels?

Here are my levels right now.  Notice channels 18-20 are missing:

@RogersDave  As we discussed in PM, please feel free to connect to my modem to toggle 2.4 Ghz on/off for your testing.

Alternatively people can run the speed test directly from the Rogers website:

So your saying?

1. CODA came out

2. CODA Black Dot came out

3. CODA Black Dot there will be a new batch starting today? If so how do we tell the difference or should the Rogers staff know? At least when the CODA came out then the Black Dot now Black Dot 2 again how do we know the difference? There must be some useful info to be able to know the difference between the 2 right?

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

How can you tell the difference? You can't. However Dave said that the newest batches are ones that have undergone testing before they were shipped to the stores. This ensures that you get a good modem 🙂

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

I'm on the newest version of the Coda modem (with the black dot) with firmware .20. Yesterday my garage door openers and ring doorbell which are connected to the 2.4ghz lost their connection and required a modem reboot. This is the first time this has happened. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Thanks
