Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

With a CGNM-3552 it only took about 2 hours to crash the modem.  There have been complaints with the Arris SB6190 of a similar "slow modem" problem earlier last year, but, I don't know if they put enough efforts into resolving it.  Fwiw, Intel and Arris are working on the UDP issues for the Puma 6 modem at the present time.  I was hoping they would be much further along.

@Jeffj and @Datalink you can be as vague as you need to be but what type of VPN's were you using and where were they connecting into. Just for curiosity sake to try and see if there are any correlations.

For myself its a Cisco 881 Router connecting into Boxborough, MA. Behind it is a IP Phone and laptop both of which do not see any impact over time.

I use openvpn to connct to some of my work servers to do work things. As well as ssh tunnels and sessions.

Today though i have been refraining from vpning back to home and my net  appears fine. But i work late tonight so we will see. Typically every day this week i have had to reset it in them orning ot get it working in the AM and then when i arrive home from work its not working properly again.

I can  safely say its not the VPN.

I havnt used it all day and my connection is bombed out again, ping plotter as of about 10 min ago has started showing dropped packets and ive lost a channel again.

After a reboot when you have all channels what are the signal levels? When the speed drops and you loose channels do the signal levels change? I recall reading people were saying signal levels change after a few hours once they got beta firmware .23, and a reboot would fix it.

Has anybody gotten this error while their modem is being updated to .19?

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

I noticed tonight (along with the typical slowdowns and escalating signal levels) that at one point I was missing channels 8 and 24. Rebooted again, just missing 24.

That can't be normal, right?

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

I know you didn't ask me specifically but on reboot my signal strengths are +-2 max... many < +_1

once speed degrades I see some channels in +10 but it's a mix bag. Night and day numbers from a fresh reboot.

Re: CODA-4582 - Open Issues for Investigation

I am on 250/20 plan

CODA-4582 firmware 2.0.10.13 was updated to 2.0.10.19

After update did a speedtest for 2.4GHz and 5Ghz wireless

The 2.4Ghz speed is drastically low compared to 5Ghz

Wireless              Download                 Upload             Latency

5GHz                131.48 Mb/s           21.87 Mb/s            11 ms

2.4GHz               11.66 Mb/s            3.98 Mb/s             13 ms

Will you be pushing next firmware out to participants in the firmware trial program as soon as it passes initial testing
