@RogersDave My Download Signals are off the chart again and as I said before I have the central cable hub about 20 feet away from my house. Do you think I should install the 6db cable attenuator that I have that I got from a rogers tech truck? It's running fine as is and no dropping of the internet or any other issues?

Hey your speeds look good to me with 2 jitter what firmware are you on ?

Another odd issue has corrected itself for some reason? They both show as ON now?

 

I'm still on .20 Firmware.

@Triple_Helixthe -6db attenuator will definately help reduce the downstream strength closer to what it should be. However that in turn will raise the upstream signal strength as well which may put your on the higher end of that scale (Should be around mid 40's as the range is +35dB to +52dB).

 

I had the same issue with high downstream signals and ended up putting a -9db attenuator to lower them down closer to the 0 range which helped my speeds a lot. However my upload signal strength was at a lower starting level (38's) which gave me more room.

 

I would recommended putting the attenuator on and having a look at the signal levels/speeds for testing and make the call from there as you can always remove it if things start acting up.

@Vikentieff, If you were already on the trial, I will eventually detect it. I update all the records every 2-3 weeks. In that case, sending me a PM also works.

 

Just keep in mind that I am receiving a lot of private messages these days. Ultimately, I'm really trying to get some testing done, document open issues, make sure that Hitron has everything they need to correctly diagnose issues.

 

I have a backlog right now on some forum posts, trying to get a resolution for the problems affecting multiple customers. Unfortunately, I may be lacking the time to answer everybody at this point but I'm doing my best.

@lethalsniper, I just checked your modem and aside from the 435 MHz channel (you are aware of this situation), everything else looks good. I've also pushed the latest test firmware to your modem.

@Triple_Helix, yes I would put that attenuator, that signal is too high. But we will have to keep an eye on your uplink. Depending on the attenuator you have, it will have a different impact but I can check that easily (I wouldn't trust 100% the uplink signal values from the modem. They are reported in D3.1 mode although this is D3.0 so there is a delta.

Thanks @RogersDave Quick question what is the difference between the firmware .20 you push to my modem or if someone has the same modem as me and just waits for that firmware is it the same or the one I get still in trial/ testing ? Again thanks @RogersDave

You are officially registered as a trial participants so I pushed the latest version to your modem which is 2.0.10.20. When I receive 2.0.10.21 or any future version, you will also receive it.

 

If someone is not on the trial, their modem will get updated automatically to the production version, which is currently 2.0.10.19, within 48-72 hours.
