Hello,
I'm wondering what the current IPv6 status is within Rogers. A search on the forums only shows 10 topics over the past year that even mention IPv6, and there doesn't appear to be any official communications from Rogers since IPv6 day last year.
I know that Rogers (supposedly) supports IPv6 tunneling (although the only person to ask about it did not get any responses).

Log into the CGN3, reset it to factory defaults, then reboot the CGN3. Do this all from the GUI
if you cannot login, then hold the reset button on the back of the CGN3 for 10 seconds then release.
After that login to the CGN3 and set it to Bridge Mode again.

Log into the RT-AC68U, and navigate to the IPV6 page as is shown in this thread:

Set the following parameters:
Connection type: Set to Native
DHCP-PD: Set to Enable
Auto Configuration Setting: Set to Stateless or Stateful (Stateful does work)
Connect to DNS Server automatically: Set to Enable
Enable Router Advertisement: Set to Enable
Hit the apply button. When the parameters are saved, reboot the router. The LAN IPV6 address, Prefix Length, and IPv6 Prefix will not show in that panel until after the reboot is complete. Log into the router again and you should see the IPV6 address, Prefix Length, and IPv6 Prefix in the IPV6 panel.
Note: all of this assumes that the CGN3 is running in Bridge mode with the RT-AC68U in full router mode. I run a CGN3ACSMR in Bridge mode with the RT-AC68U in router mode as well. Switched to IPV6 using the steps above and had no issues obtaining an IPV6 address. If, after all of this, you still don't obtain an IPV6 address, my only assumption is that there are some local technical glitches that need resolution. In that case please indicate that in the thread.
Edit: Correction: line reads as follows: "When the parameters are saved, reboot the router".

That's exactly how I've set the ipv6 page and applied and rebooted several times, with no change.
edit have always set it to stateless

Well, the issue of the DPC-3825 not supporting IPV6 is rather interesting. That's basically forced obsolescence I would think. Why should the customer have to pick up the bill for that one? If Rogers intention is to go IPV6 and force all of the obsolete modems out of use, perhaps they should be picking up the bill for that. I would send a pm to @CommunityHelps looking for clarification on the issue. I suspect this decision is up a couple of pay grade levels.

The Cisco DPC3825 can be swapped for one of the newer Rocket Wi-Fi Modems without an issue.
The decision not to launch IPv6 on this modem does not mean that we are not supporting it anymore. It simply means that there are technical issues that are preventing us from launching IPv6 on that particular model.

My theory is that Cisco is not supporting IPv6 on the DPC-3825 gateway mode... or wants way too much money for IPv6-compatible firmware.
Look at the supported list of modems. It's basically all the Hitrons, not the SMC 4-channel D3, not the DPC-3825, not the SMC D2 gateway, but it does include some D2 straight modems. Funny, that, isn't it? Old gateways are out, old straight modems are not.
One interesting question is whether bridged DPC3825s could do IPv6 even if gateway ones can't, but that question may never be answered.
Also, does anyone actually have an owned DPC3825s? IIRC, Rogers was quite eager to sell SMCs, CGN2s, and CGN3s, but buying a DPC3825 was far more difficult.
And anyways, why does 'the customer' really need IPv6 for another 3-5 years? It's fun to play with for techies, but... what other use does it have for most people today?

Having issues getting an IPv6 Address in both gateway and bridge mode. The modem usually operates in bridge mode with a PFSense 2.3 box behind it. I've tried both a factory reset from the GUI and the physical button.

That's an interesting question. If you could swap that out for the CGN3ACSMR, because the HF plans break out modem rental fees separately, your modem rental 'component' would go up to $12-14/month from the $8 or so it is now. (I feel like the AC gateways are $14/month standalone and the original CGN3 is $12/month, but that might be bad memory on my part)
At that point, let me ask you this - how does keeping the HF 60 compare with trying to have a friendly chat with customer relations about one of the new Ignite plans?
Other option: do you want to buy a CGN3 from someone like @Datalink or me? I have a lightly used one sitting in a box downstairs... and I don't think they'd make you change plans to go from a rented DPC3825 to an owned CGN3.

I also run my Cisco in bridged mode, with a computer running Linux as my firewall/router, so there's really nothing that modem has to do, other than pass the IPv6 packets. I currently run IPv6 via a 6in4 tunnel and have done so for 6 years. So, it's really not a big change for me to get IPv6 from Rogers rather than via a tunnel.
I guess I'll have to hit the local Rogers store tomorrow, to see about changing modems, though it seems to be a waste of my time and a perfectly good modem.

That's an interesting question. If you could swap that out for the CGN3ACSMR, because the HF plans break out modem rental fees separately, your modem rental 'component' would go up to $12-14/month from the $8 or so it is now. (I feel like the AC gateways are $14/month standalone and the original CGN3 is $12/month, but that might be bad memory on my part)
At that point, let me ask you this - how does keeping the HF 60 compare with trying to have a friendly chat with customer relations about one of the new Ignite plans?

@tyvm I was able to look into your issue. You are located in the same area that we have identified earlier as having an issue providing IPv6 PD.
Our teams are working on the case. I can't provide an ETA but I would expect it to be resolve sometime next week.

Traceroute to rogers.com is a silly, silly idea.
1) The Rogers corporate web site has always been on a completely different network from Rogers' actual IP network used by customers. This is just how it has always been. If you want to know the full history, around 1996-1998, Rogers had a business telecom division called RNS that sold business-grade leased-line Internet (and was completely separate from the Wave, later @home residential Internet network). They sold that business to an outfit called Metronet, which after some more mergers, became Allstream. For whatever reason, Rogers' corporate HQ has continued to buy their Internet connectivity from those guys...
(And if I haven't seemed crazy enough yet, I remember that 207.245 IP range - my dialup ISP back in late 1996 had a T1 from RNS, and their IP range was 207.245.something... I forget now, it's been over 15 years since I had to key in DNS server IPs)
2) rogers.com doesn't have IPv6 connectivity (or at least no IPv6 DNS), so even if your IPv6 works great... oops. If you want a site to traceroute to, try www.google.com or www.facebook.com

They're not. There are multiple price categories:
- D2 straight modem
- D2 gateway
- D3 4-8 channel gateway (SMC, CGN2, DPC3825, though at one point the CGN2 'advanced' modem was $1 more)
- D3 24-channel CGN3
- D3 802.11ac 24-channel CGN3ACR/CGN3ACSMR ("Rocket" modem)
(and I guess there's also the gigabit modem but that requires the gigabit plan which includes modem rentals)
I haven't seen a full price list recently; I think the 2015 rate increase letter may have had a full table at the back. The 2016 letter didn't...
The HF plans were advertised as including modem rental, but that modem rental is still charged separately... so if you had HF30, for example, which was advertised based on an 8 channel D3 rental, and you got a 24-channel D3, you'd pay $4/month more or whatever the difference is.
Honestly, between that, and the $3/month rate increase, you may want to look at the new plans...

2) rogers.com doesn't have IPv6 connectivity (or at least no IPv6 DNS), so even if your IPv6 works great... oops. If you want a site to traceroute to, try www.google.com or www.facebook.com
I used to work for Unitel and would often work with RNS. Unitel went bust and also eventually became part of Allstream. These days I'm working for a company that does a lot of Allstream work and still see the RNS labels on the racks, POPs etc. Most recently, I saw it in the Allstream POP on the 43rd floor of the BCE building on the south east corner of Bay & Wellington, in Toronto. Many of the old RNS POPs are now Allstream, or rather Zayo.

@lawlsl You are experiencing the same problem as tyvm.
There is an area around Scarborough (not sure exactly what the boundaries are) where IPv6 is not working. We are working on this one.
