5G access for Shaw Mobile migrated customers

wphailtsm2023
I plan to stick around

Our services page says this:

"5G / 5G+ network access. Monthly data at speeds up to 150Mbps"

But Rogers reps are telling people our plans are only eligible for LTE. Why would the service page say one thing while your backend provisioning system is saying something completely different?

Re: 5G access for Shaw Mobile migrated customers

Good afternoon @wphailtsm2023!

As of September 18, 2023, we’re migrating Rogers postpaid customers with 3G or 4G plans to 5G access. This change is applicable to Data, Talk and Text and Data-only 4G plans. Customers will receive a notification to let them know of this change to their data speed.

Regards,

RogersCorey

Hello @wphailtsm2023 ,

A warm welcome to our Rogers community forums and thank you for posting your concern here. 🙂

Just to clarify, if have a 5G price plan with a 5G capable device, then you should be able to receive 5G access in any areas where 5G service is readily available. However, if you have a non-5G price plan, then you will only have access 4G/LTE.

If you are unsure as to whether or not your plan is 5G compatible, kindly send us a Private Message @CommunityHelps and we'll be more than happy to review your account and plan details with you further.

Kind regards,

RogersYasmine

Re: 5G access for Shaw Mobile migrated customers

But hasn't Rogers already stated that all mobility plans are getting 5G access regardless of if it's on an Infinite plan? This is a Rogers press release from May:

"Over the coming months, all Rogers wireless customers with voice and data plans will be proactively provided with access to the Rogers 5G network, at no extra charge."
