My WIFI is fine. I am attempting to set up a new device and I have no idea how to get the security key so I can get the internet up and running.

Hi @MASCOT you can find the default WiFi key at the back of your Rogers modem.

@MASCOT I don't believe that the default security key, as indicated on the back of the modem works anymore. It might depend on the modem that you have. The Hitron modems arrive with a setup routine that forces the user to enter their own wifi network name and security key at the very beginning of the setup. That wifi security key is also used as the modem's password. Users can go into the modem settings afterward and set the modem password and wifi security key to something else as they so chose.
Now, the Ignite modems, XB6, XB7 and soon to be XB8 might be different. Maybe there is a default security key that works when the modem first fires up, or maybe Rogers has continued with its setup routine which forces the user to enter the wifi network name and security key (wifi passphrase) during the initial stages of the setup.
If the modem is up and running and you don't know the password or wifi passphrase, you can always call tech support to have them set one or the other to a temporary password or passphrase. After that you can log into the modem and reset them as you desire.
