With the latest version of f/w my issues with my pixel XL have been resolved

Re: Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem – Firmware Trial

@Mythen, running the CODA-4582 with .23 loaded?

I have a wifi analyzer on my pixel XL. I have set 2.4 GHz to auto and 5 GHz to 149 I also have that wps turned off. My analyzer indicates there are no good channels on 2.4 GHz. I also have Auth Mode set to WPA2- PSK and encrypt mode to AES. I read somewhere that this will help wifi to be faster.

The tech removed my Coda with the black dot and downgraded me to CGNM 3552 running 4.5.8.22

@Datalink. I am. It was actually resolved a few firmware updates back

Re: Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem – Firmware Trial

@Hucklebury, that looks good.  TKIP for encrypt mode is actually not compatible with 802.11n, so, using it will force the data rate down to 54Mb/s.  TKIP is also no longer secure and should not be used in any form of encryption setting, TKIP on its own or TKIP/AES combo.  From what I remember reading, for a Wifi Alliance Certification, vendors can no longer offer TKIP as a stand alone encryption setting.  Personal opinion, it should be deleted as a selection, stand alone or combo.

Ok, I see that you're running a 3552 with .22, which is the latest network wide version.  Not sure what to think about the Pixel situation in that case.

I will wait for the new version. I use wifi on both pixels, 1ipad, 2 tablets, TV, chromecast and android box so I guess thats alot. not all are running at the same time though LOL

My modem appears to be broadcasting two 2.4 ghz channels. One of them has my SSID and the other has no SSID. when I switch channels they both move to that channel. Is this possible? I am still having issues with wifi speeds on my Pixels at home. ( 3-5 mins to download app from google play) I know its not the Pixel, at work on a different ISP provider my device is blazing fast. I also noticed at work I get a 3ms ping and at home I get 37 ms.

Frustrated,,,,please help.

Do you happen to have a Roku?

My personal opinion. Drop the 3552 like a bad habit lol. Get yourself the coda 4582. Then request the. 23 firmware. Me and my wife have the pixel XL and no issues with the .23 loaded. The 2nd SSID being broadcasted on the 2.4ghz is a known issue with that modem

Re: Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem – Firmware Trial

The CGN3xxx and CGNM-3552 modems do transmit a secondary wifi beacon. That's the beacon only, no SSID. That beacon does appear to have a negative effect on the wifi performance, and has been noted by many others. As @Mythen has suggested, you could swap modems for the CODA-4582.  Beware that the 4582 is a work in progress.  Many users have prolems with inconsistent download and upload speeds with that modem.  I run mine in Bridge mode with an Asus RT-AC68U behind it and I don't have any complaints other than the usual upload rate that slows down during the day due to the upload traffic in my area.   I can hit 48/49 Mb/s very early in the morning  and during the day I'll see 25 to 40 Mb/s.  As far as I am aware, the 4582 does not transmit a secondary wifi beacon.

Wow, I just cant win with Rogers. I get the signals all fixed up now my downloads on wifi are a snails pace. Unreal.

I did already have the coda modem. WEhen the tech fixed the signals he removed it and downgraded. The battle of getting good service has gone too long

I now have the Coda Modem again with the black dot. I have firmware 2.0.10.23. I am now missing a couple of port ID on the downstream. these were ok on .13 and .19. will a factory reset fix this?

Re: Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem – Firmware Trial

I would try a modem restart first.  Pull the power and plug it back in.  If that does not work for some reason, run a factory reset.

Thank you, the restart did work!!

what do you recommend for firewall settings? Default is min

Re: Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem – Firmware Trial

@Hucklebury I would leave the firewall settings at the default, unless you have a specific reason not to.

Hey @RogersDave, can we please have an update?  I'm on the gigabit package and I just did a speedtest and I got less than 100mbps down.  Most of the time my speeds are somewhat ok, but I am only getting the full gigabit speed extremely rarely.  Is there going to be another new modem?  The Coda modem does not seem to be working well at all.  You mentioned before that you were confident that you could work out all the issues within about a month (you said that in January).  If you could please let us know where you guys are at I would really appreciate it.  I can understand some inconsistency in my speeds but getting less than 1/10 of the speed I pay for is unacceptable IMO.  If you can at least update us as to what's going on and how and when you guys are going to fix it, that would be very helpful.

I posted my issue in a different thread re: the .23 f/w where yesteday my speed tests were consistenly giving me speeds of 750 compared to the .19 f/w which was giving me 950.  My up speeds haven't changed and still giving me 30 up when they should be 50 up.

Re: Rogers Rocket Wi-Fi Modem – Firmware Trial

@markopas Some areas are capped at 30mb/s upload, you can call Rogers or send a PM to @CommunityHelps and ask if your area is one of them.
