Intermittent WiFi Disconnects

I've been around

Our wifi goes on and off all day long. Constantly dropped from Zoom. Television watching is a nightmare. Many technicians sent but the problem is never solved. So tired of poor internet service.

Hey @valliereville,

Thank you for posting about your problem; We appreciate your contribution!

We most definitely want to help you diagnose what can be causing these disconnections, so that you can get the most out of your internet service. A variety of factors can affect strength and speed, but you can troubleshoot any WiFi issues easily using the Ignite WiFi Hub, or the MyWiFi app, depending on your modem model.

I can only imagine the inconveniences these problems may have caused, especially if you mentioned there were several technicians sent over to your house, to no avail. Do you currently have a technician visit scheduled in the upcoming days?

If you have not been in touch with our technical support team lately, please send a private message to @CommunityHelps so we can access your account and run some tests. Not sure how? Click here.

I have been having the same issue for a while. The TV freezes for a few secs... annoying...  critical issue is when I am on video calls. I look like a novice and it's costing me $$$.

The tech came a few days ago... upgraded to the Wifi6. I then upgraded to the Ignite 1gig. Blazing fast but the frequent disconnects continue. So, its not speed/bandwidth. Something is wrong with my wireless access to the internet. How do I trouble shoot that?

Re: Intermittent WiFi Disconnects

Hello, @Vin526

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums!

Its disappointing to hear about the connectivity issues you are facing.

  • Can you describe where the modem is located in your home? Is it in a central location?
  • Approximately how large in your home and what is the layout/how many floors?
  • How many devices do you have connected to the Wi-Fi?

Once we have more details we'll be better equipped to assist you.
