Hey Everyone! 😀

 

Welcome back to my annual Apple Reservation thread! Once again Apple will announce their new  iPhone 12 line up! Once they do, Rogers will Open up their reservations for the phones! I will do a life update to make sure everyone is up to date!  This line up will Include the iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max ( the Pro Max will be pre ordered and  released in mid November as per many leaks). 

 

 

  • How you will reserve if you’re an existing customer:
    Log in to My Account on Rogers.com
    Under Account choose Wireless.
    Go to Manage My Device at the bottom of the page.
    Click Upgrade My Device.
    Choose 12 mini, 12, 12 pro. The iPhone 12 Pro Max will be pre ordered starting Mid November.  ( Choose as a “ Pre order”
    Pick either Ship To Home or Ship To store (Device Reservation)
    Choose a phone from the Phone Model drop-down.
    Only phones that can be reserved will appear.


Review the account information next to your selection.
The email address must be auto-populated in the right section of the reservation form. Otherwise, you can’t reserve a device.
If the email is not auto-populated, first add the email address in the appropriate field of your My Account profile. Then, log out and log back in.
Select a store to pick up your phone.
 Review the reservation details and click I AGREE to accept the Terms and Conditions.
 Click Reserve to complete the reservation. A store representative will call you when the device is ready for pick-up.

 

Make sure you understand that you will have to sign a new contract which now you have to pay taxes upfront for the device and pay monthly for it. This is the new way of getting a device. 


How to reserve if you’re a new customer
Go to https://www.rogers.com/web/link/DeviceReservation?forwardTo=nrsRegisteredCustomer
Click Sign Up and enter your email address. ( It may tell you to also input all your info again.)
Under Phone Information, choose the device you want to reserve, and click Continue. Only devices available for reservation will appear.
Fill out the form under Personal Details and click Continue.
Fill out the Payment Details for the refundable $40 reservation fee and click Continue.
Select a store for device pick-up and click Continue.
Review the reservation details and click I AGREE to accept the Terms and Conditions.
Click Reserve to complete the reservation. A store representative will call you when the device is ready for pick-up.


  • Online Statuses
    Open - Phone has been reserved
    In Progress - Phone is in inventory and the order is being processed
    Shipped - Phone is on its way to the chosen store
    Cancelled - Reservation has been cancelled


Keeping you up posted along the way
You’ll receive the following confirmations:
An email after completing the reservation
Weekly status emails confirming you number in line on the waiting list
An email when the device has been shipped to the store. (Includes a delivery tracking number)
Phone call from a store representative when the device is ready for pick-up


Good things to know
Phone can only be reserved, not purchased ( The purchase of the device will be done in store)
You can change the pick-up location when the online order status is open. If the order status is in progress or shipped, the location cannot be changed
Shipments typically take up 4 days, and your device is held in store for 3 days ( The delivery can be next day in most cases)
If you don’t pick up your phone within 3 days, the reservation will be cancelled and be sold to a walk in customer. You can make alternate arrangements with the store manager if need be.
Only the account holder or an authorized level 1 user (someone authorized to make changes on the account) can pick up the phone. Photo ID is required when picking up the phone.
If a reservation was made to a location that is now closed, We’ll send the device to the closest Rogers store or authorized dealer in the area. The new store will contact you when the device arrives and is ready for pick up.


Reservation Fee
“What about this $40 reservation fee? Will it be returned to me?” You betcha. You’ll get a credit of $40 (+ taxes) for the reservation fee on your account if you reserved as an existing customer or to the original credit card if you reserved to activate a new line. Your reservation fee will be credited when:
Your phone ships from our warehouse or
You cancel your reservation online.
Before you go to the store to pick up your new phone, why not get a quote for your old phone and trade it in for a credit!


Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse, goes to the store & they call you. 

 

 

For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confuses about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

 

I know its alot to read at the moment but i am trying to cover all the bases for everyone so everyone knows how the reservation works and what they need to know! as always do not be afraid to ask any question you have as I or any other member will answer it for you. I will do my best and answer all questions 😺

Don't be too upset or envious about not getting mmWave in our iPhones; it's practically useless in day to day use.  Verizon has precious little mmWave coverage except for tiny pockets of major cities.  mmWave is a very fragile frequency that requires line of sight.  It has almost no penetration through surfaces/walls etc.  In fact, even rain can make you lose signal.  It's a very limited use-case technology.  Its best application will be in stadiums and arenas where they can pack a load of transmitters in a relatively small, enclosed site.  As a technology for general population use the way we all use our phones day to day, it's not practical at all and we're not missing out on anything.

What’s up buddy!

So how do these “positions” work on Rogers? I managed to refresh my page at 7:35 exact and got the #1 spot for the 128g gold.
Wondering if this technically means I’ll receive it on release day (oct 23rd). I did ship to store as well.

Unless there is a huge shortage from Apple ( which i doubt there will be). You will get it at release date. They will ship out the day before or 2 days before hand!

Rogers on Twitter said that the iPhones will ship on release date, rather than in advance of Friday. Sucks to hear that people who ordered it to their home may not receive it on release day.

For the past couple of years they have been doing ship to home, most reservations / pre orders to ship to home have shipped out a day before or the day of for delivery launch day. They use same day service UNLESS the weather is bad or they have had issues.

I ordered online and chose ship to home - there is no indication that an order was even submitted aside from my confirmation email. Rogers really does not do a good job at this...

Well I did explain on my first post how ship to home order's work I believe.

Ship to home orders are the same as a regular upgrade when u do it over the phone. You will get a email with a tracking number when it finally has shipped out. It's the same as Bell and Telus. The reservations are different then ship to home.

Reservations means u reserved a phone to be sent to a location of ur choice. It's not a upgrade like ship to home. When u go to the store or when the store calls u, u can accept to take the phone or tell them to pass it along to someone else. Where a ship to home order is a hardware upgrade without the reservation.

I ordered my phone online and selected to ship to my home. How can I find my place in line like everyone else is pointing out in their thread? Went through everything on the rogers page and couldnt find anything.

Thank you for the post. My comments were more directed at Rogers’ poorly made website. I know my order is in, but the website doesn’t show that anywhere. I’ll probably get it on release date, but what about someone ordering it today? You just eventually get an email that it shipped, but you don’t know where you are in the process.

That is true but it's the same as if you do a normal hardware upgrade online. You won't know where you're order is until u get that shipment email. They just copied the hardware upgrade program and did it as a ship to home order. That's all.

Most carriers do this. With Telus you do the order and there is a order status page. However they do not give u a Que number or anything. Only tells you that the order was submitted and to wait for the shipment email / tracking email. That's all. Most if not all carriers do it this way.

Reservations is the only program that gives u more information. They could have implemented this into the ship to home or hardware upgrade but they didn't.

We have Rogers EPP through my workplace and  they don't even have pre-ordering available!  Hopefully I'll be able to order when the phone is released on Friday but I'll probably be so far to the back of the line by then, I'll be lucky to get it by Christmas!  😞

I would email your Rep and let them know if they can add it / when they will add it.

If you're able to go into a Rogers store at launch and able to do the upgrade therr, try that.

Oh, can stores do EPP activations?  That'd be great if so.  I thought I had to go through my dealer or RogersDirect.
