Loyal customers less important than new subscribers

I've been around

Well the typical game as the discount period is over, huge increase in price.

Why are new customers offered internet at $50/month vs ~$100 for folks like me who have been with Rogers for >25 years.

What is wrong with Rogers treating loyal customers with less respect than new customers?

The phone agents lie or simply arent trained properly.

Absolutely awful experience on multiple calls over 4 hours trying to get a reasonable price for a 24month contract so I'm on a month to month until I get get a new provider.

Time to say goodbye.....

It's called a loss-leader, or a promotion. Everyone knows that the promotion will end and the price will go up significantly. You then have the choice of switching providers every year (or two) and the hassles associated with that, or negotiating your best deal with your current provider.
