Home Internet down.

I've been here awhile

I am in STITTSVILLE and home internet is down from couple of minutes to hours in the least two days (random hours)... I joined rogers 4 days ago and it's possible it is a far longer issue...
I called Rogers 3 times so far... finally, they said the issue is the node and they raised a ticket for a maintance team but based on what I read in other posts, it will not be helpful... I've spent almost 2 hours talking to Rogers in different days ...for the rogers' team is just a normal workday but for me is stopping my work and call them and repeat the same conversation over and over...
Based on my personnal experience, If you plan to work from home, Rogers is not a right choice for you (at least in my neighborhood). If the issue persists, I have to leave Rogers!
When talk to an agent , remember the blew list:
1. 100% ask the agent to document your conversion (sometimes they don't do that even for serious issues), there is a high probability that your issue won't be resolved and you need to call them back. You can refer to the documentation of your previous talk.
2. They ask you to reboot your modem... do it yourself, to save some time!!
3. If they assign a ticket for your request, ask them to give you the ticket number for further followup.
4. Anna (chatbot) is not helpful. 3 different agents couldn't resolve my internet issue!!!

@SAM175 when you're logged into the forum, look for a number overlaying the envelope symbol in the upper right hand corner, indicating that a message is waiting for you.  Follow that envelope symbol, as it serves as a link to the message inbox.

Which part of Stittsville are you in?

I switched over to Rogers 1.5Gb service a month ago now, and have ZERO down time.  I am also in Stittsville.  I use a UDM-SE which monitors connection, so I can see if I am down for even a minute.  And since I have plugged in, I have zero minutes downtime.

Re: Home Internet down.

It all depends on what neighbourhood you live in, which determines the age and  condition of the neighbourhood node, the hard cable that runs from the neighbourhood node to your local tap, and the loading on that local tap.  I'm in Stitsville as well and fortunately our cable service in my neighbourhood has historically been very good.  Go a few blocks over and the same might not be said.
