“Guest” Wifi

TerrorPanda
I've been around

Hello!

I have Ignite internet with the XB7 router, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to add an extra router I have and use that as a guest WiFi running in parallel to the main WiFi network?

Are there any configuration changes I need to make on the gateway modem for this to work?

Thank you!

You could add a secxond router with guest Wifi access with no changes to the xb7 BUT it would be doing double NAT.

Best bet, Bridge your XB7 and put in place a good router with Guest Wifi available.

Good Luck.

However, this should be a non-issue for guests who are just doing casual web browsing.

You can also avoid this problem by putting that "guest access" router into "AP mode" or using a Wi-Fi Access Point.
