So I have Ignite 1.5 Gbps plan, but only with 50 Mbps down. I was wondering if Rogers has any plans to upgrade their upload speeds at all. Bell is offering symmetrical on all their FTTH plans, and I am curious if Rogers will ever match it.

A few comments.
1. Rogers (and Bell) FTTH is typically rolled out in new areas/developments.
2. Coax is perfectly capable of 1.5-2 Gbps download speeds and that's what most people are interested in.
3. 50 Mbps upload speeds is typically adequate for the vast majority of users, although I do understand that some people do have an interest in higher uploads for certain uses. Perhaps some patience or scheduling is required there in the meantime.
4. Bell has to upgrade existing homes to FTTH because the highest they could provide with the existing twisted pair to the home was around 50-100 Mbps down, while Rogers has been capable of over 1Gbps for many years. FTTN (Node) is used by both.
5. As mentioned by @-G- some areas that are not FTTH do already have 150 Mbps upload available, but the only way to check to see if an area has this is to go to the Rogers website and put in your address when checking on Internet (or bundle) plans

@libertb Rogers won't make any public comments about any planned changes until they actually get rolled out to customers.
There is talk that our upload speeds may get bumped to as high as 150 Mbps, perhaps even in the very near future, but I have also been hearing those rumours for more than a year now. Shaw customers already get those faster upload speeds. However, we (Cable Internet) customers won't see symmetric download/upload speeds until Rogers upgrades their equipment to support DOCSIS 4.0.
Comcast has already started their DOCSIS 4.0 roll-out albeit using an equipment vendor with a proven ability to deliver and technology that Comcast co-developed with Broadcom.

Hmm, interesting. Well, here's to hoping it won't be rumours for much longer. Appreciate the clarity though! Seems like Rogers will be sticking to DOCSIS for a while, no FTTH plans?
