Hey everyone!!Smiley Happy

Once again its the time of the year that Samsung announces their new Galaxy S line up. I am happy to announce that Samsung this morning announced the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+!. The device has a breathe taking new design which includes 88% screen ration, S8 is 5'7 inch screen and the S8+ is 6'2 inch screen, Fingerprint sensor on the back and new Snapdragon processor. Also comes in different colors and includes more features!! 



1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Click on the account you want to access ( Some have multiple accounts ) - click on your number ( if you have multiple numbers) - scroll down and click on Device Reservation. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want and it wil,l show you a list which will include the Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ in Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues . The reservation list is different statues and numbers for all models / colors and groups ( Business, Consumer and pre orders have different line ups and numbers.)

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them or going to the store. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online. The store can help you log into ur account and let u do it but there is no pre order list in store.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.


4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

EDIT - The phone is available in Midnight Black and Orchid Gray in Canada. Maple Gold, Tactic Silver and Coral Blue, along with Midnight Black and Orchid Gray colour variants will be available in the U.S. and other markets. 

 

So sadly we are only getting the Midnight Black and Orichrd Gray in Canada. Later on we will get the other colors hopefully. 

 

EDIT 2 - In Canada the S8 is set to start at $1,035 CAD with the S8+ costing $1,115. Carrier pricing is not avialable  at the moment. Soon it will be. 

 

EDIT 3 - April 21st is when the S8 / S8+ will be launched!

I am also a Business order.   I was 26 now 6.   But it has not changed since 3:30 so I think thats it for the weekend 😞

 

Samsung keeps sending me reminders about activating to get my free VR Gear 🙂   they know how to hurt a guy.

If you are a non business customer, just log onto your Rogers account.  Go to services and it should be there under upgrade.

If you are a business cutomer there is a link sent to you on your confirmation email.

I've been here awhile

This is the first and most likely the last time I pre-order a phone. I pre-ordered on the first day, decided 2 days later I wanted the black version and called to change my order. customer service could not find the order, even the confirmation number I was given when I made the order could not be found. So I re-did my order, out of curiosity I called rogers to see of there was any info since the phone was released today as my status has been in progress for a few days and the rep I spoke to says he see's no order on my account again. when I check my rogers account it shows my order. 

 

Normally I wouldn't care and would wait but my Note 5 is on its last leg, been waiting for a phone since  last  year as I was originally was going to buy a note 7 but that failed, after that I tried to get a  pixel Xl  direct from google but is was always on back order , changed my mind as I wanted to stay with Samsung. 

 

What's the wait time looking like to get my hands on this device? Have many received their pre-ordered black S8 plus in Toronto? I was number 32 on the list when I first checked the day I made my order. it wasn't until Thursday that my status changed to in progress.

I was on the business/corporate line of s8+ orchid grey. Preordered and was less than 20. No change in status. 

Just went to a nearby store and picked up. Also, the price is more accurate in store( 559 vs 625 on premium tab ). 

Loving the new phone..Long time nexus and other devices with lots of rom dev work.. Now I will have more time in life :-), as BL is locked.

As i said many times. The reservation does not guarantee that u will get it at launch or before anyone else. I csnt stress this enough. It clearly says this in the page before doing it. Many fail to read that.

I was #1 from the start of reservation and got mine in Tuesday morning. U got ur number as soon as our first batch left and u became on the second batch. Now the call center CAN NOT see ur reservation. So do not keep calling please. U are wasting their time and yours. They have no access to the reservation system on their end.

I was curious the website indicates get a s8 for 99$ on two year plan with 150$ credit on trade in. The s8+ on 2 year is 548$ per rep at store. If I traded my s7 Edge for this promo would I still need to fork over the 548 or pay the 99$ promotion.

That promotion is ONLY for the S8 and not the S8+. Unfortunately you won't get much for the S7 edge from Rogers. Only $150 trade in. So sell your S7 privately and get more out of it.

You would have to pay $548 in order to get the S8+ with the older plans. If you have a new Premium Plus plan, you only $320 for the S8+. If you sell your S7 edge privately then u can recoup most of that money and put it towards the S8+.

I went into the Main Retail Rogers office on Bloor Street and Jarvis here in Toronto.

 

There is a shortage of S8+ being experienced by all carriers.

They have lots of S8s for sale but were sold out of S8+ on Friday.

They only recieved 6 units total to this store which I would guess should have been allocated the biggest quantity.

 

He told me that its just best to wait it out because they don't have an eta for new shipment.

 

Hope I get it before May 🙂

on business side for S8+ went from 158 to 4 on thursday & the guy on the phone said the warehouse ran out most likely which is why mine wasnt shipped out yet.  Just my luck to run out 4 phones before me lol

Hey guys!

Just a heads up. Please make sure u look through the device and take the screen protector off before leaving the store.. I didn't noticed until now that there was scratches underneath the screen protector and had to contact the store I got it from and let them know.. Also make sure u let them open it in store to see if there is any.

Mine was on the top and bottom left side of the screen. Unfortunately one store rep was rude and blamed me on it. He also said that I could have done it and wanted another one. ( got into a heated exchange with him as he was pushing the blame on me instead of taking responsibility or even trying to help) Asked to speak to the manager and the manager was there listening. After me being upset and the store manager noticing and the store manager saw it and let them know no one opened it at the store and it was like that. The store manager decided to do the return when I come back Monday and do everything back.. Unfortunately that store and around 10 stores in Toronto alone don't have S8+ in stock. The store manager is able to do the return even though I went over the 30 minutes and all. Just been such a bad week sadly. They seem deep like someone dropped it and then packaged it.

Thankfully a Rogers store has one in stock (s8+) and going Monday to do the return and upgrade again. The store rep will hold it for me.

What a weekend eh? Just my luck...

That would really suck if one of our devices were damaged & had to be exchanged for another. Seeing that the IMEI is tied in with getting the VR we would be SOL. What would you do in that situation? I'm wondering if Samsung would take that into consideration...

I'm Pretty sure Samsung will be notified as i already called them and told them.. The rep said that's fine. Even the same store rep said it couldn't be a problem as i am still getting another S8+ just returning mine. He said in those cases they will honour it.

I'm more upset I have to redo everything again lol.

EDIT - Samsung head manager called me and let me know it's fine as i already registered my original one. Once you sign into ur pre order one, it's fine. So looks like I'm still getting it. Called the Samsung Experience store and they said the same as well.

Once you do the pre order form online and then log into ur Samsung account on ur pre ordered S8 or S8 Plus, you will be getting a email saying the device has been registered. Once that has been added to ur account, u won't get anything else until u get a shipment email from UPS.
