Hey everyone!!Smiley Happy

Once again its the time of the year that Samsung announces their new Galaxy S line up. I am happy to announce that Samsung this morning announced the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+!. The device has a breathe taking new design which includes 88% screen ration, S8 is 5'7 inch screen and the S8+ is 6'2 inch screen, Fingerprint sensor on the back and new Snapdragon processor. Also comes in different colors and includes more features!! 



1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Click on the account you want to access ( Some have multiple accounts ) - click on your number ( if you have multiple numbers) - scroll down and click on Device Reservation. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want and it wil,l show you a list which will include the Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ in Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues . The reservation list is different statues and numbers for all models / colors and groups ( Business, Consumer and pre orders have different line ups and numbers.)

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them or going to the store. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online. The store can help you log into ur account and let u do it but there is no pre order list in store.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.


4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

EDIT - The phone is available in Midnight Black and Orchid Gray in Canada. Maple Gold, Tactic Silver and Coral Blue, along with Midnight Black and Orchid Gray colour variants will be available in the U.S. and other markets. 

 

So sadly we are only getting the Midnight Black and Orichrd Gray in Canada. Later on we will get the other colors hopefully. 

 

EDIT 2 - In Canada the S8 is set to start at $1,035 CAD with the S8+ costing $1,115. Carrier pricing is not avialable  at the moment. Soon it will be. 

 

EDIT 3 - April 21st is when the S8 / S8+ will be launched!

Agreed! I Actually love the 6'2 inch display. By far the best screen I have ever seen on a mobile device! Not to big either for me!

So here is a lesson for everyone!

 

I got my new S8+ Grey phone today and set it up with the SIM card as I wanted to keep my old phone working while I setup my new one. During setup, I couldn't remember my Google password so I reset it. Everything went fine and I setup all my apps. At the end, I shut down the phone and inserted the SIM card. To my surprise, when trhe phone booted, it had reset itself! So, I started to reconfig it again but when I got to the place where I enter my google password, I get this message that since my password had recently been reset, I can't enter it again for 24 hours?? what is up with that? I can logon to my account on my computer but the phone won't let me activate it using my google info? Stupid security if you ask me. I should be able to verify who I am rather than be completed locked out!

My reservation status is still open therefore my device has not yet shipped so I'm assuming I might not even get it until next week. Which is fine but say if I were to go to a store on launch day & they happen to have a device on hand (not my reserved device) & I decided to purchase it will that still be considered a pre-ordered device & will I be able to still qualify for the Gear VR? I have already filled out the form.

Contact Google support and they should be able to resolve the password issue for you. Happened to me and that worked.

As for setting up and rebooting it happened since the Note 7 or before I believe.

So my suggestion to anyone, do not setup the device until u put in the sim card and it does it updates. If u setup the device without the sim, you will have the same issues as @SwordFish99 were u have to do it again.

I don't believe so but no one can be done sure unless Samsung has a list of all the IMEI number and that have been put in pre order status and thus they know which one is which.

This is a question to make for Samsung Canada. They can only confirm this.

No worries! Agents need to get their act together. They most likely have misplaced it or forgot where it is.

On the UPS site, it shows who singed for it. Call the store and ask for that person. See if they can get a hold of them and let them know what's going on.

Thats false and incorrect. Samsung has announced that if u pre order devices u can get them a couple days early.

However for walk ins, u must wait until the actual launch day which is April 21st. Samsung said the official date of launch is
April 21st but pre orders get them earlier. If u watched the announcement u would see this as Samsung even said it and even all the carriers around the world show it.

Why do u think it shows " pre order" on the Samsung Canada website to get it? If it was actually released, it would have said " Buy Now".

Just spoke to a rogers rep, she said the the reservations, and the pay now pre orders are two different things, they can track the reservations (obviously) but what I found interesting is she said that they have no access to the pre order system, and that explains why there is no news of them until they ship, all she can see is when the request was made for the upgrade.

That is also incorrect. They can NOT track the reservations. No store or call center can track the reservation devices. Only the warehouse can and they do not give out that information unless a investigation is happening on a missing device if it's deemed fit. They also can only see that u placed the Pay now ship faster pre order but can not see the status either until u get a shipment email. Then they can.

It seems like alot of misinformed reps are talking again.

How nice is this phone😁!. Some getting used coming from a 6P. Just wondering if you might know about the gearVR promo. I signed in to my samsung account from the phone and registered the device....is that it? Are you suppose to receive a email confirmation? I know this is Samsung related but figured I'd ask you cause you are on top of this

I love it and csnt stop using it at work LOL.

All you have to do is log into ur Samsung account on ur S8 or S8 Plus. Then u get a email showing u logged into ur account with the model number of the phone.. From there Samsung will take care of it from what it seems. There is no confirmation email or anything. The next email will be the shipment email or a email from Samsung to verify that u have the device and such ( some cases they do this). I remember with my Note 7, I got the Gear Fit 2 and never got a confirmation email when I did the same online though. Just a shipment email a week and half later that it's been shipped out.

This is absurd. I picked the pay now ship to home option, They took my money and changed my plan right away. on sunday they tell me its in progress should ship monday. No one can tell me where im at in the queue just that its pre ordered. I called rogers earlier spoke to a manager in moncton that was suppose to call me back and never did. called and spoke to toronto their supervisor fed me a load of garbage and was suppose to transfer me to retention and hung up on me.

Call back spoke to retention and hes telling me i cant cancel my pre order and get my 360 dollars back that i paid  and i have to reject it when it comes even though it hasnt shipped yet. now im on hold for some other department. At this point Ijust want to cancel my wireless service and get my money back.

I called back Rogers again, my phone (Grey S8+) is STILL in PROGRESS and has not been shipped out yet.

 

The reps on the phone have no idea that stores and other pre-order customers have already gotten their phone.  They actually said "its illegal to get it before the 21st". Jesus, they are so clueless. Rogers has done such a poor job on being transparent with these people.

 

They applied a $50 credit for the "inconvenience" of it all. 

 

I was #7 in line on the corporate said. I listened to the rep. who advised me to ship it directly. What a mistake. They said I won't have it in hand before the 21st. What was the point in pre-ordering then??

 

Ridiculous.

Hey folks,

I got my Black S8+ today in the end, as I mentioned earlier I wasn't home for the ups delivery. Lucky for me the courier dropped it right off at a an affiliated location 2 blocks away.

Left work and immediately made my way there. This phone is amazing, however when I reached for the s-pen I was sad for a moment (proud owner of a Note 1/3/5).

I doubt I'll have any issues adjusting to the S series, I did afterall have an S2 at one point :-p.

Galaxy S8 Pricing Error or Rogers Website Screw-up?

 

Hi,

 

Just picked up my Galaxy S8 today and had some sticker shock.  When I logged into MyRogers account on March 30th I had an "Exclusive for You" price offer of $99 on a 2-year Share everything (Premium+ Tab), which showed it as a mark down from the normal $249 price.  Logged in again on March 31st and price was still there when I placed my pre-order online.  Went to the store today to pick it up and was charged $249.  I've spent hours on the phone with Rogers reps and talking online to a rep but getting nowhere.

 

Did anyone else get this offer or see this price before it was changed?  Reps can't seem to find any record of this ever being a price option and Rogers doesn't want to make good on this.  Surely I can't be the only one in Canada who was presented with this offer, and surely if it was a website error their reps should know how to handle customers calling in who were offered it but had to pay $249 instead.
