Desktop Cellular Phone (Landline Replacement) - Raven
Will this phone work on the Rogers network? The manufacturer says no based on the bands. I'm not so sure.
The specs are as follows

Hello @jimaginet, @DominicB
@jimaginet Welcome to the Forums and I apologize for the late reply!
You should be able to use your non-Rogers phone, as it is compatible with some of Rogers' frequencies. However, we can't guarantee you that you get access to our LTE network.
@DominicB Although I'm not familiar with this equipment, according to the band, it should be compatible with Rogers network, however, as previously stated we can't guarantee a non rogers device will work.
You can find more information here: Rogers LTE APN Settings!
Anyone else in the community have experience with the desktop cellular phone?

Will a Moto G4 Plus unlocked phone from the USA work ok on Rogers?
Here's the Canadian Moto G Plus version's specs:
Networks 4G LTE (Cat 4) UMTS / HSPA+ GSM Bands (by model) Moto G Plus - XT1641 GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) UMTS / HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz) 4G LTE (B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B12, B17, B28) Band coverage varies by model, country, and carrier.
Here's the unlocked USA version's specs:
Networks 4G LTE (Cat 4) CDMA / EVDO Rev A UMTS / HSPA+ GSM / EDGE Bands (by model) Moto G Plus - XT1644 CDMA (850, 1900 MHz) GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) UMTS / HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz) 4G LTE (B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 25, 26, 41) Band coverage varies by model, country, and carrier.
The USA version (XT1644) lacks LTE bands 17 and 28.
Would that be a problem with Rogers for data or voice?
What if the USA phone didn't have a data plan under Rogers, just voice?
Would that work?

After looking through some of these posts, it seems the USA phone is only lacking LTE Band 17 as far as Rogers is concerned. It has the other 700mhz Band 12, and all the other LTE Bands (and all the other protocols as far as I can tell.)
So I guess I'm asking just how would the lack of Band 17 play out in real world in Rogers Canada ??

Hello, @brucelazerte
Thank you for posting your query in the Community. As you are aware Rogers network uses GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+ at 850 MHz and 1900 MHz, or LTE technology at 2100/2600 MHz AWS. So any unlocked phone which has the compatible frequencies shall work, however, we can't guarantee the performance the unlocked device.
Cheers,
RogersMoin

Good afternoon @Bombelkie & @sawhcale,
Thank you for your posts.
You should both technically be able to use your unlocked device, as the Band 7 is compatible with Rogers' network. We, however, cannot assure you that it is entirely functional since the phones you are looking to purchase are not officially supported by Rogers.
When using a "non-Rogers" phone, don't forget to make sure you have the appropriate Rogers LTE APN Settings!
Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions

Hi all!
I am thinking of buying a new phone from another country. From my understanding, Rogers (and other Canadian carriers) offers the following LTE bands:
Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz)
Band 7 (2600 MHz)
Band 12 (700 MHz)
Out of these 3 bands, the phone I am interested only has Band 7. Will this be an issue?
(The phone I am interseted is the Mi Max).
Thanks!

Hello @ZCKel
Welcome to the forums!
Indeed that will work on Rogers network :). You should be fine.

Thanks @Meowmix!
I am wondering will I experience frequent downgrades from LTE to 3G? i.e. How good is the coverage of Band 7? I believe Band 4 is the "primary" band... right? I am in Metro Vancouver.

Hello I'm considering the purchase of a BLU Life One X2 for my next phone. I'm not sure what bands Rogers uses but the one X2 uses:
Technology | GSM / HSPA / LTE |
2G bands | GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 |
3G bands | HSDPA 850 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 |
4G bands | LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 7(2600), 12(700), 17(700) |
Speed | HSPA 42.2/11.5 Mbps, LTE Cat4 150/50 Mbps |
GPRS | Yes |
EDGE |
Yes |
Would someone be able to tell me if I can use this phone on the Rogers network?
Thanks

Good evening @SIVAPRAS329,
Welcome to the Forums!
From the information provided, the device described would grant you access to voice calls.
We unfortunately cannot guarantee that you get access to data transmissions and/or to our LTE network.
Please visit this page for more information on the use of a non-Rogers device, on our network.

Hello,
I have a Xiaomi Mi5 with a LTE compatible band (Band 7) but I am only getting 3g/ HSPA (I did setup the Rogers APN)
Is there good Band 7 coverage in Calgary? Thanks!
11-27-2016 07:07 PM
I just received my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 this week and am still playing with it.
The HSPA (H+) is the 4G network. So if you are seeing this it means that you are on the 4G band 7.
If you keep bouncing between bands, go into your sim card in the settings, and manually select mobile network, instead of having the phone select what is preferred. If you set it to Rogers 4G you will stick there, unless you are on wifi.

I would like to know if europe/asia model is supported by rogers network.I see only LTE band 7 being supported. Is that sufficient?
