Release Dates Missing on Channels

I plan to stick around

Why have the dates of production/release been removed from all channels? Very annoying as do not know if watching an original movie or remake. For TV shows they are usually not shown in series, but random so I would like to know at least what season I am watching. These like regressions one by one are enough to either change subscribers or better still HD antenna and get 45 over air channels at zero $$, and some of them you don’t even offer and they are good. GRIT TV for one.

I complained about this to Rogers yesterday. Why are dates and actors' names missing on PVR info?? I hate not knowing the year that a movie or TV show was made. They also don't include information about actors. It's really annoying!

Mississauga, installed it for my mother 2 years ago, working fine

You can use Zap2it to get date and some actor information and IMDB for more complete information about movies and tv shows.

I am not going to pull out another device to look it up when I have a guide on the TV that shouls work properly.

Rogers updates/upgrades mess things up. Who thought this would be a good idea, to save a few $$ and tick customers off?

BTW 1, Bell's guide works fine 2, trying to submit this twice and in Maintenance in progress, come back later

Exactly! The whole purpose of the information section on Rogers' guide is to give us INFORMATION. We pay big bucks for it. Why do we need to be inconvenienced by looking elsewhere? What are we paying for?

I am also not happy about this change. It's really annoying more than anything.

WHY have you removed the dates from the information for shows and movies?

What the heck are you turkeys up to now!?    Put the dates back,  please.

Re: Release Dates Missing on Channels

There used to be dates on all of the program descriptions. All of a sudden there are none. Is this the new strategy?

Who would you complain to? I tried but got nowhere.

I phoned Rogers and was told that they would look into it. I will most likely switch providers if it is not resolved.

Typically the best option is to use "Share a Concern".  See link below:

https://www.rogers.com/consumer/contactus/share-a-concern (Additional Contact Options).

Be aware that others have already used this method, as discussed in the following thread without success, however, the more people that complain, the more likely something will be done (however doubtful with everyone being migrated to IgniteTV.

I'm a trusted contributor

I must admit I do find it terrible frustrating not knowing the year when a show that is not new was first aired.  And no, not everyone will be migrating to Ignite in the near future.

I've noticed that the year a movie was made no longer appears in listings. This is a critical piece of info for viewers. I also prefer to know who is in the movie. Anyone else notice this?

I have noticed this info missing and have spoken with client relations 1 877 765 0635  Was told there is a software problem that is being looked into.  No estimate as to when it will be resolved.  Imagine, a large company like Rogers cant resolve this quickly.

Contacted Rogers-share-a-concern, after review said contact a Technical Specialist, why a joke

@paullj : Was that via a telephone conversation?  I certainly wouldn't have let them get away with that.  I would have (courteously) pressed the point that this is happening to everyone and is not a "technical issue" affecting only you, but everyone on digital cable requiring senior intervention.

As much as this sounds  like a possible  line from Rogers,  I noticed  another change around the beginning of last week.   l often listen to  Sportsnet radio on my TV in the morning (in Toronto channel 904).  Descriptions started appearing that were not there before, and these descriptions were outdated by as much as 10 years.  The program lineup is way off,  and some of hosts are not even with Sportsnet anymore e.g. Greg Brady   I  received an email from Rogers regarding the program grid and  an update that may affect recordings.  I believe this was around June 14th.

After this update nothing appeared to change , so I forgot about it.    Possibly, the changes  we are now seeing are a consequence of a glitch from this update.

Rogers is driving me up the wall with this, and different shows running than listed, or different episodes than listed, run a forced updated in the middle of “prime-time”, constant showing of ROD channel and Call Display even though I hid them. Let us not get into the repeat programs on different channels, or constant reruns of the same movie or episode either back to back or within the 2nd time slot. Rogers own sports channels, what use are they if you run the same game on all 5, considering they are offered at least 3 times each that is 15 channels of the same show. And the CRTC will do nothing about it, I complained and bottom line was told they can advertise 1000 channels and on each one show the same program and there is nothing wrong. They want to play as the big US cable companies but they are not. Not getting my $$ this VIP package, should be only worth $20, not the $100 paying now.
