How widespread was the outage and when did it occur?
If construction equipment took out a critical run of fibre, or something else outside of Rogers control causes the outage, Rogers posts the reason here: https://www.rogers.com/support/outage
If the problem was on Rogers' end, they are less forthcoming with information.
If you had an outage that lasted several hours followed by a long period of instability outside of normal office hours, and it affected yours and perhaps a handful of other neighbourhoods, I would bet that Rogers made a hardware/software/configuration change to your node and your node crashed.
