I see on in my ignite gateway menu, an option to put the modem into bridge mode. I was talking to technical support earlier through chat and they told me they don't have the authorization to give me the PPPOE username and password. I'm trying to put the modem in bridge mode and enter the PPPOE credentials in my router so I can open a port.

@JaskaranB you can put the modem into Bridge mode and connect the router to the modem without issue, Rogers uses a straight ethernet connection off of the modems.
There are no PPPOE credentials in the Rogers system. I'd say that whom ever you talked to was having fun with you, at your expense instead of telling you that Rogers doesn't use PPPOE. Your modem is identified as being on your account, so there are no other credentials required.
Now, just to note, if you happen to have Rogers Fibre to the Home which has a Nokia Optical Network Terminal (ONT), that ONT connects to the XB-8 modem via the modem's port #4. That is the lower right port at the back of the modem which is denoted with an orange/red stripe. That 2.5 Gb/s port is a firewalled dual purpose port, running as a WAN port or a LAN port. In the case of a Fibre to the Home installation, it runs as a firewalled WAN port, and is the only port that can be used to connect to the ONT. Customers who have this configuration can only run 1 Gb/s from the other three modem ports as that is the fastest data rate that they will support. There is a setting for port 4 in the Gateway >> Connection >> WAN Network page. The drop-down should be on Auto, but you can select between DOCSIS and Ethernet. I'd personally select Ethernet if I was connecting thru an ONT.
Note: That when you have port 4 selected as the Ethernet WAN port, you can't run the modem in Bridge mode. The firmware won't allow it.
This restriction might apply automatically when the modem senses that port #4 is being used as a WAN port.
Now, you can remove the modem and simply connect the ONTs ethernet port to the router. If you have a router with a 2.5 Gb/s port, then the ONT can connect to the router at a max raw data rate of 2.5 Gb/s.
There are two Nokia ONTs in use from what we've seen in the forum. The product tag can be seen on the bottom of the ONT:
1. NOKIA XS-010X-Q ONT: has a single ethernet port.
Available data rates: 100 M / 1 G / 2.5 G / 5 G / 10 G Base-T interface with RJ-45 connector
Ethernet port auto-negotiation or manual configuration with
Medium Dependent Interface /
Medium Dependent Interface Crossover (MDI/ MDIX)
2. NOKIA XS-020X-A ONT: has two ethernet ports
Available data rates port 1: 1 x 1/2.5GE
Available data rates port 2: 1 x 10 GE
If you look at the back of the ONT, you'll know which model you have.
Hope this helps.
