I just wanted to know what the ideal signal levels should be for Downstream and Upstream SNR, Power Level. This article gave me some ideas but I figure I rather ask the experts at Rogers:
https://pickmymodem.com/signal-levels-docsis-3-03-1-cable-modem/
Also, I have index 1 and index 33 with the following values:
Index 1 and 33
Unerrored Codewords
2544931327
|
Correctable Codewords
1454846970
|
Uncorrectable Codewords

How would I fix that?

@Alex4161 you would have to post the whole table to determine if there are any signal issues. Can't do that with just one set of fields. Its possible that nothing requires fixing.
Ideally you would have the following for the downstream DOCSIS 3.0 channels:
Modulation: QAM - 256
Signal level: 0 dBmV Ideally 0 dBmV with values grouped around 0 dBmV.
Signal to Noise Ratio: 36 to 40 dBmV
DOCSIS 3.1 (OFDM) downstream channels:
Modulation: OFDM - (QAM - 1024) The QAM level won't be visible to the end user
Signal level: 0 dBmV
Signal to Noise Ratio: 36 to 40 dBmV (??)
Upstream DOCSIS 3.0 channels :
Signal level: 36 to 40 dBmV (You might have three or four upstream channels)
Note that the Hitron CODA-4582 typically runs in a 30 to 32 dBmV range for upstream signal levels

Here are the levels:
Channel Bonding ValueIndex
Lock Status
Frequency
SNR
Power Level
Modulation
Upstream | Channel Bonding Value | |
1 | 2 | 3 |
Locked | Locked | Locked |
30 MHz | 23 MHz | 38 MHz |
5120 | 5120 | 2560 |
36.5 dBmV | 36.5 dBmV | 36.8 dBmV |
QAM | QAM | QAM |
ATDMA | ATDMA | TDMA_AND_ATDMA |

@Alex4161 here are your signal levels, charted. Its a little ugly to say the least. That line should be a flat line at 0 dBmV. You definitely have some cable resonant issues in the 600 to 700 Mhz range. Yes, those levels are within spec, but, they don't meet the minimum to maximum signal level range or the max signal level slope. I suspect that tech support would say "h'uh, what are U talking about?"
Note that your DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM channel starts at 350 Mhz and runs upwards from there. It ends around 500 to 542 Mhz, depending on how wide the XB6 OFDM channel is. So, looking at your DOCSIS 3.0 signal levels, that OFDM channel is running with a downwards slope from start to finish which is less than ideal.
Contact @RogersAndy or @RogersTony to have a look at this. I have no doubt that you need a tech to check the external cabling and connectors. Are you in a house, condo, apartment, etc, etc ??

Hello,
Thanks for the information. I am in a house. I just have 1 connection that plugs into the XB6. The wire runs from the side of my house to my bedroom. No other splits in the house. I had a 2 way splitter before but removed it as I don't need all the additional outlets anymore.
My services work fine so I am not sure if calling support would make any difference. Since I am at the end of the linex, they would probably need to get maintenance involved.

Ok, that makes sense considering that you're at the end of the line. The field tech would or should check the external cable and its connectors. If that cable has been in service for a good number of years, then its probably due for replacement. Without getting maintenance involved, that's probably the best that would happen.
The chart requires moderator approval again as I changed the chart title slightly. Message has been sent to the moderators.

I believe we had a portion of the underground cable from the tap replaced a couple years ago. The connection from there to the side of the house at the time seemed fine. I don't mind a service call as long as the tech does not make things worse. The Sr. guys seem fine but the jr ones like to toss an amp on it or don't want to open the proper tickets.
Is there a Sr. Tech that can check out the wiring?

How do I get in touch with @RogersAndy or @RogersTony ? I tried to PM them but this name does not appear

@Alex4161 you should be able to send a message to @CommunityHelps and ask either one to respond to your message. Since you've had a senior tech out to your home previously, I suspect that either Andy or Tony might be able to arrange for a senior tech visit.
