Hey everyone!!

Once again its the time of the year that Samsung announces their new Note line up. I am happy to announce that Samsung this afternoon announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 7!. The device seem to have amazing specs! Including memory SD card slot, water resistant and most of all, curved screens on both side for the Note Series and Iris scanner!



1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Samsung Note 7 Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

@wpd1 JerryRig is reputable and it is good he came out with another video and admitted it but I was pretty confident with Gorilla Glass's explanation. Would still prefer Sapphire over Gorilla Glass though if we can get those on Android phones then only diamond can scratch it.

You can clearly see the US carriers hold all the cards. They basically can say "we are sending all your Note 7s back". Even though there are no reports here in Canada it's the same exact phone with same internals. Guess Canadian Carriers don't hold the cards and Samsung Canada does. It's good on the US Carriers stepping up and thinking about what's best for their customers. There should be no questions asked and you can return the Note 7 replacements to all carriers. Get it all the time from people 'is that the phone that explodes". Even my wife is starting to get mad telling me to rid of this phone. "I don't want this phone around my kids".

Indeed Samsung Canada does hold all the cards here and won't let carriers do much until they say so.

Surpringly this is what a Rogers MOD on Facebook posted to a user asking about it as well.

"Replacement Samsung Note 7 are still blowing up. Why hasn't Rogers made any statements about this? Or for the first issue for that matter...

I talked to Rogers on Twitter about getting a refund. She said they will be making an announcement in time.

Agreed. Honestly at this point it's a tossup for the iPhone 7 Plus or the Google Pixel XL for me. I still haven't sent back my recalled one anyways as i have been so busy with working 6 days a week.

I've spent this AM looking at other Android options, and you're right... the Note 7 is the best for my needs.

 

No one feels worse than the people at Samsung I imagine, hopefully the next generation is a big step forward.

 

Depending on the word from Samsung Canada, it looks like the Pixel XL is the phone I'll be using for the current generation.

I used to be an iPhone person back when they had the 3g. I switched and don't miss it. The new phone its nice tho. Water resistance is must have feature for me which makes the Pixel useless. I have used the Note in the rain and water quite a bit. I think I will find a way to wait until the S8 comes out. Guessing 4K lightly curved screen like the note will be the main feature as well improved camera and processor.

Sprint and Best Buy USA are now halting all Note 7 sales and now refunding and exchanging any device of their choice. Hoping Canada can start this. My wife wants this phone out of the house ASAP. Love this phone but I'm so mad this is a mess

Again they follow what Samsung US tells them to do. Samsung Canada hasn't done anything yet because no one here in Canada has had any issues yet. I bet they are waiting for that to happen but now that everyone is halting the sales and letting go their customer return the device or exchange them, they will do the same. Rogers reps seem to know a bit thus why they are telling us they are looking into it. Hopefuly they do let us.


Just a heads up, if this does happen, expect the bill to be a mess if u do the return and resell

I actually wish the Note 7 never came out that way whatever phone I get I won't feel so downgraded. That is just how good this phone could have been. The Edge is the closest but if travel bans extend to all Samsung phones then gotta go with Pixel XL. Even if I get the Edge that will be my last Samsung phone for awhile. Samsung really disappointed me with this debacle. When the S8 or Note 8 comes out they better submit it to regulatory reviews. I won't dare preorder a Samsung phone again nor would I recommend anyone be first adopters of their mobile products. Funny thing is a lot of co-workers and friends ask my opinion when it comes to tech. I have converted so many IPhone users I should get paid lol but they just lost my endorsement.

Agreed with that. Unfortunately it seems like it will be my last Samsung device for a while as well. As much as i love Samsung and the Note 7,this is causing more of a worry then anything and Samsung Canada doesn't seem to care. They don't want the returns that's what it is.. They rather keep us from retuning them, then them taking a huge loss and starting from the bottom again.

They better do more thing then that when the Note 8 or S8 come out. Many have lost faith and trust in Samsung overall.

@Dx9 the funny thing is my wife loves the Note 7 and uses my phone when I am at home and doesn't understand all the fuss I have been making these last couple days. She also doesn't keep up with any tech news so...

Ugh this whole situation is really starting to make me frustrated. It's like going from a Mercedes to a Kia lol.

Exactly @Meowmix I haven't been this hype for a piece of tech since the Note 4 which TBH was more of a leap than Note 7. The Note 4 can still compete with 95 percent of new phones out there. To me that phone is still the pinnacle and the Note 7 right behind it.

Honestly idk what to think anymore. My gf wants to exchange it to the Pixel one and I am still on the fence the iPhone 7 Plus or the Google Pixel XL. Don't know which one at the moment lol

honestly getting another new phone to me is just a concilation prize for all the inconvenience the Note 7 and Samsung has brought me through. I will probably regret the new phone like a hangover after a breakup but at this point I can't leave empty handed even if my Note 4 still works very well for me. Lol. Logically I should just wait for the next gen and give up on this one...

If we are allowed to exchange for another device I would go with the Pixel. Not into the iPhones anymore considering what you get with Android. Will def miss wireless charging, bringing the Note in the Hot Tub 🙂 . Yes it works great in water :). Love all the features the Note 7 brings to the table. Nothing on the market matches a Note 7. That's the frustrating part of the ordeal.

Hey maybe we won't be exchanging the Note 7. Like Meo said it's all up to Samsung Canada. Canadians always get the shaft somehow :). I just don't want a phone that has potential safety issues, no software development since it is pretty much abandoned in the US now. What are crazy sad thing that has happened
