Last year, we had the same conversation.Continue with Rogers because of their offer. This year again with no conversation or warning, you raised my payment up more
than double. Could you please tell me how i can cancel my Roger Account? Thank you

@Gizem is there any chance that the plan that you were on had expired recently?  If you look at your last two to three bills, you should see a notification of an expiry date for that plan, and if so, you would have had to contact Rogers for yet another plan at whatever rate they would provide.  I suspect that your previous plan expired and the cost automatically jumped up to the current "in market" plan rate.

Try contacting the moderators via message to either negotiate a new plan rate, or to cancel your service.  Send a message to the moderators at @CommunityHelps which is their collective address.  Follow that link to their public page when you're logged into the forum.  On the right hand side is a link to send a private message.  Follow that link to the message composition page.  The address fills in automatically.  Fill in the subject line and details, including your account number and request a new plan rate or to cancel your service.

Note, if you are on a legacy plan, which uses a Hitron modem, you will not be offered the same plan rate as Rogers is forcing customers over to the Ignite system which uses Comcast modems and tv set top boxes.  So, ou would have to change modems as well.

Hello Gizem,

I would like to help explain it in simple terms from a customers perspective not an employee.

When you get any kind of rogers internet plan, there is the cost of the plan, that is the normal monthly fee.  but to give a customer a good deal, they do NOT lower the price of the plan, however they add this thing on your line called a discount,  the discount is something nice to give  you a nice special price for choosing this plan or product. but it is NOT to be confused with the official price of the plan.

Discounts eventually expire, and after that, you are not supposed to get mad at rogers, however  you are supposed to feel thankful for getting a nice deal all these months, better than other customers, and be so thankful you got a deal that once the discount expires you are supposed to be happy to gladly pay the in-market rate going forward.
