Discrimination on Family Status

I tried to change my plan online. I have done this many times before without issues. I was told I need to revalidate my passcode, however I am.on maternity leave. I emailed tfedgovidv@rogersdirect.ca and didn't receive a reply until the next day. Of course now the offer is not avaialble anymore. The agents refused to honour this offer today despite being told they would ensure it is available when i receive the passcode. I have transcripts to.prove this was said. If I wasn't on maternity leave I wouod have access to this no problem. How terrible that being on maternity leave has caused me to be at a disadvantage and unable to access plans that I should have access to. I am really disappointed with the service I received from Rogers with following up with this issue. I want to know how I can access the rates I was promised and how.to rectify this issue.

We had a very similar situation. My wife had the EPP plan, and her phone broke so she was willing to do a hardware upgrade to a new phone. We could not because she was on maternity leave and had no access to her work email to verify herself. She was even willing to pay MORE for her phone and plan, but they gave such a hard time for her they did not understand that someone can have a work email but not be able to access it due to maternity leave, its discriminatory and disrespectful.  She had no choice but to change cell providers.

That is terrible. I eventually requested my request to be escalated after a 2 biur chat conversation. It is truly shameful how unwilling they are to accomodate such requests for those on maternity leave and it is so unfortubate that women are having to miss out on deals and savings while on a reduced income. It is disrespectful and discriminatory and it should be addressed by Rogers. I am sorry your wife had to go through that.
