Ignite TV bandwidth provisiong and ethernet port speed

Two questions regarding Ignite TV...

1) Does anyone know if Rogers has separate bandwidth provisioning for TV streaming and internet, or is it all part of the subscribed internet package?

2) The ethernet ports on the Ignite streaming boxes...are they gigabit ports?

1) No not separated bandwidth for IPTV, it is surged not consistient bandwidth.

2) 100mb ethernet ports. More than enough for Hd (10mb) and 4k (25mb)

They are gigabit ports.  

The lights on them just dont follow the fairly normal standards.

Nope, the Ignite Xi6 and XiOne set-top boxes have 100 Mb/s Fast Ethernet ports, or at least mine do.

To confirm, connect one directly to your Ignite gateway with your best Ethernet cable, then log into the gateway and go to "Gateway > Hardware > LAN Ethernet" and you will see, "Connection Speed:100 Mbps"  (Copy/pasted from my XiOne's connection)

FYI..the Xi6 STB is made by Arris.

100 Mbps Ethernet port.
The WiFi support is 802.11abgn and ac protocols, so theoretically much higher through-put is achievable on a 5G WiFi carrier, but congestion and interference can drop that significantly.
The modem however, has 1000Mbps ports.

Ethernet ports 100 Mbps ... it would defeat the purpose of a direct connection between the modem and the Xi6 even if those 2 units are side by side; as wireless AC would be so much faster (even though a wired connection would be more stable).

I would much rather have a rock solid 100Mbps Ethernet connection than wireless, especially if I was in a heavily congested environment like an apartment building. None of the installation documentation mentions wired Ethernet being an alternative. But I suppose that is simply due to eliminating a possible point of failure.

100mb portal as said is more than enough for upto 4k video stream at 25mb.
