Free episodes now only available on Stack TV subscription

I'm here a lot

Am I the only one frustrated that on Rogers many of the TV shows I was watching had free on demand availability. A few days ago many of the TV shows that I was able to watch episodes for free, have now moved to StackTV subscription. Is this typical? Has this happened before? Will free episodes return and there is a time frame of when they automatically roll over to Stack TV subscription or have we lost those shows being free on demand? Why did Rogers not give any notice that suddenly what used to be free availability to watch episodes, have now gone to a paid Stack TV subscription without notice?

I really don't think this is a Rogers doing. I believe Stack TV is owned by Corus (aka Global) and they control their content.

By moving it to Stack TV they want you to pay for a subscription.  It called capitalism.

I thank you for your reply. When I was chatting with an agent they did not have an explanation. I do think Rogers should have given their paying customers a courtesy notice of this going to happen.

Rogers never gives a heads up on anything any more. Don't ever ask when something is coming cause they won't tell you until.it is available. Example; fire tv app. People were always asking when things are coming and rogers never tells.

TBH they probably didn't know. Again it's all up to the content owner.

Two things can be true at the same time. Corus upload and/or verification errors often occur with Stack TV and free content access through Rogers On Demand.

If you can watch recent (or even some older episodes), on the Global website or App, using your Rogers credentials, it would be wise to contact Rogers Tech support to open a ticket, and hopefully within 2 business days, at least some of the missing free content will appear. If not, perhaps this is an early sign of upcoming streaming wars in Canada.

Rogers has the rights to WB/Discovery content that will also appear on its CityTv+ streaming service, so I'm not surprised that the new CityTv+ commercial pokes fun at Stack TV ... perhaps Corus is getting ready to fight City hall.

Love thy neighbour.
