Hello, @gerrymacd
Thanks so much for posting your concerns in our community.
I can understand how important it is to know when your 3G devices will no longer be supported. You can find out more about this by visiting here.

How can I tell if my LG-E410B 3G phone operates on the 1900 MHz frequency band? I can't find anything in the specs.

I searched the phone model on the web and found the following in the first hit:
https://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_l1_ii_e410-5608.php
https://www.movical.net/au-en/features/lg/e410b-optimus-l1-ii
Expand the "Network" line and it shows:
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
Looks like you're good until the end of 2025.

I have noticed something curious on the VoLTE FAQ. According to it, VoLTE won't work in the Extended Coverage areas or Northwestern Ontario. But with 2G and 3G being shut down, that will leave people unable to make calls in those areas. I trust this will be corrected before the shutdown.
"Where can I use VoLTE?
In Canada you can use VoLTE where ever you have an LTE connection on the Rogers network. VoLTE will not work in Extended Coverage (EXT) areas or Northwestern Ontario. "

Here's some more info. According to this, 850 MHz 3G will be shut down by Dec 31, 2025. 1900 MHz 3G has been shut down, as has 2G. This chart also shows 5G, but not yet on 1900 MHz. Rogers is getting ready to roll out 5G there and on 3.5 GHz C band.

Me too. However there are still some devices that are still 3G. They'll now be only on 850 MHz. I have a Google Pixel 6, which supports 5G.
BTW, you might have still been using 3G, if you were ever in an area that didn't have 4G. It takes a while to roll out new tech to the entire country. I had one trip to Bancroft, Ont. a few years ago, and I couldn't even get 3G, let alone 4G. On that trip, when I as setting up a VoIP phone system for a major company, I found they didn't even have a T1 line for the phone network there. So, some parts of the country might not have much better than 2 cans and a string. 😉

Despite the information in my earlier post, Rogers will be ending 3G as early as March 31, 2025. I'm assuming at that time they will have to open up LTE (4G) for people on Pre-paid plans, as other carriers have already done.

What's their source? All I see is websites stating that info, but it honestly feels like it's just a rumour. There's no source anywhere at all, nothing official and no statement from Rogers either (and I went through 8 pages of Google results...). I'm pretty sure someone randomly pulled that out of nowhere, one day, and everyone and their guinea pig took the bait.

Guess you need to refine your search techniques. In addition to the links I provided earlier, a quick search found the following:

https://www.rogers.com/support/mobility/3g-network-retirement-everything-you-need-to-know
In spring 2025, we're planning to retire our 3G network
Since Rogers was using 3G for their prepaid services, prepaid is being discontinued per the following thread in December 2024:
Although that's probably not the only reason - the other being cost and few prepaid customers left.

I just received this email from Rogers about the discontinuation of 3G. Does that affect regular phone calls and text?? I don't have data plan on my phone, I only use home wifi when needed. I'm I actually required to upgrade my phone. I know my phone is getting old (8 years old) and I was thinking about upgrading in a year or 2, but I can't afford the extra monthly charge for now. I only use it for phone calls (mostly for my mom).
Note: I sensored my phone number in the message below.

Well it looks like everyone was hoping that Rogers would open up 4G/5G access for prepaid users, but instead they got an even better deal, Rogers (and Fido) announced prepaid is disappearing, so that solves that mystery. Its not something we are happy about but who knows the reasoning behind this decision.

If you're on Rogers prepaid, see the following thread. You should have received a text on your phone that Rogers prepaid is ending on December 16, 2024 and you'll need to switch to Rogers postpaid, Fido postpaid, Chatr prepaid, or a competitor.
If you're on a post paid plan, you need to search the web for the specs on your phone to see if it is 4G capable, as discussed earlier in this thread. If it is not, then you'll need a new phone.
Looks like you can also use the following link to see if your phone will work:

I have a monthly basic text and talk plan for my phone, and my phone is a Huawei GR5 (KII-L05).
The Rogers Device Information your provide can't find my phone on the list neither with my IMEI number. But the with a google search I land on Frequency Check website and it say that my phone is LTE/4G compatible. (https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/Ak5WZ/huawei-gr5-lte-kii-l05) and (https://www.frequencycheck.com/carrier-compatibility/d4NwU9/huawei-gr5-lte-kii-l05/rogers-wireless-c...)
According to the 2nd link, my phone's 4g is not fully compatible, that's maybe why they ask me to replace it.
The email says "will replace your phone at no additional cost", I mean, I won't say no to a free upgrade. I don't have a Rogers store near me, but my mom have a doctors apportment soon in a city that have a Rogers store, I might be able to get more info and get a new phone there, but I hope we can keep our "offline" old phone for privacy reason, this is my first phone and I have personal information on it.
Edit: added detail compatibility link
Monday
We have a date, July 31, 2025.
