Unknown devices accessing wifi

mikeandshan
I've been here awhile

I had about 8 pop ups today at once of devices accessing my wifi. I paused them all (I can tell they are not mine ie. one was a smart doorbell). I changed my password and just got another one. What is happening and how can I make sure my connection is safe. I wish there was an option to refuse a device access to the network instead of just letting it be added….
Thanks in advance

Do you happen to have any Amazon Echo's or other smart devices that can share your internet connection? Echo's have a setting to turn off sharing your internet with devices that are not yours but it's buried heavily on your Amazon account preferences for your devices.
