iPhone Won't Connect To Ignite WiFi

Bancroft30
I've been around

Some devices wont connect to wifi.
Our tv, Google mini and a cell phone connect easily, but our iPhone won't connect. It sees the network and the password is inputed correctly but it still says it's unable to join. Please help

My entire family uses i-Devices and none of us have experienced any issues connecting any of our devices to any of our Ignite WiFi networks.  However, there can be a number of reasons why an iPhone either cannot connect or will not re-connect to a Wi-Fi network.

One Ignite WiFi-specific problem can occur if you have the iPhone set up as a managed device but also have Private Wi-Fi addresses / MAC address randomization enabled.  This combination can prevent an iPhone (or similarly-configured device) from reconnecting to your Ignite WiFi network.

iPhones also (by default) use Location Services to optimize reconnection to Wi-Fi networks but this can also cause problems when the BSSID of a known Wi-Fi network  in a location changes.  This used to be a bigger problem a few years ago (and I think that Apple has sorted this issue out for the most part) but if an iPhone absolutely refuses to connect to Wi-Fi in one location for no apparent reason, try disabling Location Services in Settings.

Another easy thing to try is to enable and disable Airplane Mode; this should reinitialize the iPhone's wireless hardware.  You can also try completely shutting down and restarting your iPhone.

Hopefully one of the above will work for you.

Beware of the more drastic fixes that you might find on the Internet (Reset Network Settings or even resetting the phone) because if the Wi-Fi network IS preventing the phone from connecting, none of those measures will help.
