Uncorrectable Codewords, random high ping and jitter spikes

For quite sometime now, the ignite tv boxes will jitter/drop frames or show nothing but a  black screen randomly for a bit, sometimes they will display a random code that connection to the gateway or to rogers was lost.

On the internet side of things speeds will drop and/or random high ping/latency/jitter spikes will happen.

A technician came out and replaced the coax line from the modem to rogers connection box on the side of the house and ran a new temp line to the green box (cse)  on the street.

The problems still continued and another tech was sent out. They ran tests again and said the issues was one he couldn't fix him self and created a ticket for maintenance.  

I called tech support today, they said maintenance did a 2 hour test and didn't find any issues, so they are sending out another tech on Tuesday.  I am worried they won't find anything wrong again.

I am sorry to hear that you've continued to have chronic Internet issues even after the maintenance we've already done. Those errors seem to be happening in the evening. Have you noticed if these issues tend to occur mostly in the evening?

Edit: Another spike, high jitter and 8.99 % packet loss.

Normally at night after 5 pm,  but this last spike in the morning at  around 11am.  It's always random.

I am not sure if some work was done in the area but my internet speeds have improved some, from 300Mbps to 500Mbps. Uncorrectable Codewords counts remain the same and have not increased.

Waiting for tomorrows tech appointment to see what they can find.

Sorry to reply to your post Bahha, I am also sailing in a similar boat. Especially for gaming/stability Rogers basic Coax internet is extremely poor (regardless of Gigabit speed blah blah whatever plan).

You will experience the said spike consisting of network lag/jitter (Usually Upload Jitter) mostly around the evening time following till midnight. (5pm-12am ET)

This usually happens because at that time the load on the coax cable internet gets significantly higher and Rogers Internet is not capable enough. Maybe finding a provider with Fiber optics would be suitable. I am also contemplating the same.

Modem was swapped for a new one.  Yet issues still happen. Tv boxes went down for a bit,  wifi stopped working.  This happened multiple times.  Random ping spike remain.  Another tech is being sent but I think this is a issue for maintenance.  Uncorrectable Codewords are back: 28 on channel 11, 131 on channel 33 and 28 on channel 4.

Up to 400 errors on most channels now.

Couldn't even finish a ping test.

Modem reset it self last night and the uncorrectable errors with it.  No new errors yet, however which is good. 

Tech came and did some testing and refered it to maintenance.  Hopefully it won’t take them long to find the issue and fix it.

Doing it again, tv boxes display a black screen,  internet is just about unusable.  Haven't heard anything about if it's going to be fixed.

31500 Uncorrectable Codewords on channel 33 and 1400ish on the rest.

Only a short burst this time, cleared up after ten minutes.
