I’m trying to add a couple of TP-Linksmart plugs and they won’t connect to the network because, I think, it is defaulted to the 5 GHz band and they require 2.4 to do the setup. Followed the (not recommended) Split Bands instructions in the app but despite turning it on it seems to revert back to off when I navigate away from that page. And I do have two pods, but unplugged them before trying to do the band splitting.
I thought I would add a separate 2.4 network, connect the plugs, then go back and unsplit the bands.
Now I have two useless smart plugs!
Can anyone help? Thanks.
