Rogers Xfinity 1.5gb upload issues

yebudday
I've been here awhile

For the last year i've been struggling with upload issues.  I have 1.5gb down and 200mbps upload speed. The download speeds are fine (ethernet connection) but upload suffers tremendously.

I have had many many service technicians come out to troubleshoot, as well as seniors.  I was told this issue is called "Casa Bug" and there has not been any resolution.  Apparently my neighborhood runs off a single node that gets diluted.  I have no idea what I am supposed to do anymore as no one has been helpful.  I am repetitively told to create tickets with rogers.

My upload speed is typically at 10mbps with ~400 latency.  There has been no resolution and no one points me in the correct direction.

I need help.

Upload speeds have been an issue for a number of people running a particular type of computer/firmware. It may be related to "Killer" or other NIC firmware/software.  See the following post for tips.

Does the slow upload speed affect all your devices, or do phones/tablets (on WiFi) not have the issue?  If uploads on other WiFi devices look better, this would definitely point to a computer issue.

What happens if you disconnect the Ethernet cable and run the computer on WiFi?  Downloads will drop, but do uploads increase?

Thank you for your quick reply,

Unfortunately this upload speed is consistent across all devices on my home network whether its wireless or ethernet.  My modem was replaced twice, distribution lines have been tested and verified that they are working fine.

The upload speed issue only surfaces during the evening and almost always on weekends.  The rogers xfinity app displays that I am receiving the correct speeds although it doesn't display the upload, only the download.  The last senior tech to visit my house said this is a well known issue with a 3rd party vendor.  Although I wasn't informed on all the details, this issue appears to be regarding a singular node that gets strained when everyone in my neighborhood uses their network.  My upload speeds suffer horrendously and has been for almost an entire year.  Ticket after ticket has been escalated to maintenace who have closed the ticket without any resolution.

Is there anything else you can recommend on this issue? It does not appear to be a firmware issue as I have cross checked the information you provided and ensured my hardware is not the issue.

My apologies on not answering your last question, when tested on wifi my upload speeds are consistent with the issue.  I was receiving 7mbps with 400 upload latency.

PM the mods on this forum. I have found them very helpful.  If it is node congestion, then they may be able to expedite some work on it or at least confirm what's happening and perhaps a date for a fix...

When logged into the forum, click on @CommunityHelps .  On the page that comes up, you'll see a link near the top right of the screen to "send a message".  If you're using a tablet or phone, you may need to switch your browser to the desktop version. How to do that will depend on the device but a web search should find it.  There may be some back and forth required while Rogers get your personal information to look into your account.  Personal information is not allowed in this forum.

When logged into the forum, check the envelope icon at the top right of the screen for messages.  You would usually also receive an e-mail that you have a PM, but it may have ended up in your spam folder...

Re: Rogers Xfinity 1.5gb upload issues

What are you using to test your speeds? Are you directly wired to the modem or are you uaing a router or access point connected to the modem. Have you made sure your ethernet adapter drivers are up to do from the manufacturer, not Windows Update? Have you done the same with your WiFi drivers?

I use speedtest.net to test my speeds.  I am directly wired to the modem via ethernet cable.  Also yes my drivers are fully up to date from the Asus manufacturing website & Armoury Crate app.  Thanks for your reply.

Okay, but what results do you get when you perform a speed test using the Xfinity app?  That will perform a speed test between high-speed Rogers server and your modem, taking all equipment in your home out of the equation.

Also, if your slow speed test results are due to node congestion, the results should vary at different times of the day.  If they are consistently very low, that would point to a problem elsewhere.

1. He stated that it's fine, but perhaps it would be nice to have a number. Unfortunately, the app test doesn't show upload speeds, which is his problem. He has also stated that the slow upload is across various devices using WiFi or Ethernet, but it might be good to know what those devices are - for example - make/model of phone or tablet.

2. He stated in post 3 that upload speeds are affected in the evening and on weekends.
