Poor internet speeds

Just switched from Fido 30/5 to Ignite 500.

Speed quickly degrades the farther away from the modem you get, which never happened with the old Fido modem. Our living room is about 20’ away and before with both of us on iPads could get around 20-25, now lucky to get 5 as top speed.

Have to sit beside modem in computer nook to get decent speed now.

Anyone else have this type of issue?

There are many reasons for poor WiFi speed - such as neighbours, interference, placement of the modem (even small movements of the modem may help), etc.
