Early yesterday, I and a few of my neighbors, all shaw rogers whatever customers, lost internet service. We were all told by support that we were all isolated outages. Untrue. We KNEW it was all of us because we talk on facewhatever, and KNOW it is due to alley construction ripping out lines and temp lines. I'm left to believe that this is to increase individual tech support callouts. Well, I like money as well, and every time I lost net for a few days, I get paid a lot less. I asked for a month in compensation...that's it. Just a free month and a tech visit, or cancel my service free of charge. Well we all know that wasn't happening over an "isolated" incident (just the latest of multiple occasions, btw). So, whatever, send the tech out to see the severed lines 2 days from now while I eat more vacation days. More communication needs to happen within and outside your company. Do that innovative partnering with construction companies you like to brag about. The conclusion? My GANGSTER of a neighbor (wait, wasn't I assured by a CSR that his line was ok?) went out and had a stern chat with Pidherney's workers until they properly buried the lines the techs repeatedly left improperly exposed. I heard those lines are expensive. Solved by a community, not Shawger's.

I recently switched to Bell after having numerous outages from cuts. We've already had 3 this year in my area affecting 5 condo buildings. Each time it was down for 8-12 hours meaning no access to work network. spoke to a number of reps on chat and phone and nobody was willing to convince me to stay. Every year we have multiple of these outages/cuts happen and Bell is always running all the time, go figure. I've tolerated this for a number of years and there has yet to be a single year without a major incident. Are you staying with them? there shouldn't be a fee since we're not in a contract.

Never be afraid to leave when the service is subpar. The only way to truly get through to a company is to switch! A lot of issues aren't just an easy fix. Some even require city permits to do the work, which take time. Customer Care and Support are definitely not great at conveying to customers that some issues do take time to isolate and fix.
