Hi there,

After looking through the forums, I see that a lot of people in the Richmond Hill and Markham areas are seeing drops in their internet.

I live in the Maple/Vaughan area and around 7pm - 10:30pm there appears to be congestion on the network. The upload speeds drop to 1-2 mbps with high latency when it is supposed to be above 35 mbps. This is extremely frustrating as it impedes on my work in the evenings.

I called into tech support and all they had me do was reset the modem. That wasn't the issue but I obliged. It didn't fix the issue. Both computers are wired and on Wi-Fi but the same issue is on both.

Can someone investigate if there is an issue with the node in our area?

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear about the latency issues you've been experiencing. 😥 I know firsthand how imperative it is to ensure you stay connected especially while working. I just have a few pressing questions for you in hopes of getting this ironed out:

Were you able to capture any ping tests or traceroutes that show the latency occurring?

Capturing latency can be rather challenging unless you call in while the issues were transpiring. Did you call while this was happening or after the fact?

Hi Jo,

I've been keeping a log of the last few days on a notepad but I can get the screenshots as well. In the meantime I can give you those numbers?

Rogers did send a tech out but they spent a few minutes, looked at our setup and said he couldn't do anything. My husband is a programmer so he knows how to set up and check the connections. The tech literally said it all looked good and they couldn't do anything.

I was going to call during the times it occurred so Rogers tech could see it when they looked it up on their end but the tech DID mention it was a maintenance issue and was going to put in a request. We thought we'd give it a few days but nothing yet. So if we don't hear anything by tomorrow, we'll call during the prime time.

there hasnt been any improvement and have not noticed any maintenance trucks show up but I also dont look out the window often and the box is also not in my windows line of sight.

I have done speed tests today from 8pm-11:39pm and logged them. Here are my findings:

some nights the upload speed improves a little past 10:30pm
down speeds are fine but the latency is high during congested times of 8pm-11pm
