A question about rogers ignite tv and internet

I plan to stick around

If I have a movie saved on my computer in MP4 format, is there anyway that I can play it on my tv through the wifi or some other way that doesn't involve me running a cable from my computer to the tv?

Greetings @RyeEncoke!

I do know that some TVs offer direct .mp4 support. All you'd have to do is plug a USB drive into your TVs USB port and select it as your video source.

Perhaps one of our intrepid Community members can provide you with an alternative solution! 🙂

Hmmm, my tv does have a USB slot, I might try sticking my USB drive in there and seeing what happens.

Re: A question about rogers ignite tv and internet

If your tv usb slot doesn't work (newer TVs usually have good usb media access), you can always try a blu-ray player with a usb slot (some dvd players with a usb slot might work, but they are usually more limited when it comes to file choices). And even with some Blu-ray players, mkv files might not allow easy FF or RW access, while mp4 files should offer easy FF and RW access of the content.
