Rogers ignite app issue - in-progress recordings error message

ptsakani
I've been here awhile

Suddenly I get a “in-progress recordings are only available on your in-home wifi” when using the ignite tv app to watch a show that is recording in parallel as I am attempting to watch.  This was never an issue before.

coincidentally,  I was upgraded to wife-6 soon before this started.

who can help?

@ptsakani  The app behaviour may have changed a bit over the years but I don't recall ever being able to view an in-progress recording other than in my home on an Ignite set-top box.  That you can do it now with the mobile app while on your in-home Wi-Fi may be something relatively new but I'm not 100% certain of that.

I have been able to do this on my home network until now. To clarify, this error is observed when using my iPad at home on the Rogers ignite 6 network over wifi.

Ah, okay.  I will try to see if I can watch an in-progress recording with the iOS app in my home the next time I record a program.

Went through this a couple of months ago.

In process recordings can only be viewed in the app when on your home network.

Not at home then if the recording has started say for an hour, cancel it, start a new recording the remainder of the show.

Then go to your deleted recordings and restore the recorded portion of your show and watch it. Then when second half is done watching. In other words just split the recording and start watching first split.
