Will the Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge support VoLTE, WiFi calling

Title says it all. What is the stance on the newest Samsung flagships supporting VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling?

My S7E also says Not Registered under VoLTE Registration.  When I go to SIM card status, under My Phone Number it shows "Unknown".  Is there any relation to VoLTE registration or are these two issues independent of each other?

Possibly, yes. Mine shows my phone number in the SIM status. Maybe you have a bad SIM card.

For VoLTE and WiFi calling make sure you contact Rogers and they have the correct IMEI for your device on the account. I have an iPhone 6s which supports VoLTE and WiFi caling with Rogers, it didn't work at first because they didn't have my IMEI on the account, once they added it everything has been working great since. Also make sure you are using the latest Sim Card.

That makes sense. That have to register the phone on THEIR end for it to work, which is why the Samsung Store ones don't I think.

That is from last year and that is for IOS only. Does not state anywhere for Android devices. Just making that clear.

Also they are limiting it to their own branded ones as i have said a couple of times until they make sure that works well. Then test out the non branded ones and sent out the update. A little bit if search on Mobilesyrup will show u that the iPhone that wasn't Locke to Rogers got the Volte update months after the Rogers branded ones got it.

I have two phones, one is an iPhone 6 bought from Rogers on contract, the other an iPhone 6s bought from the apple store unlocked. Both got VoLTE and WiFi calling the day Rogers made it available. The 6s wouldn't work at first, but I called Rogers and they added my IMEI to the account, then it worked no problem. So despite what everyone thinks, Rogers isn't restricting it to Rogers purchased phones.

If u go read the iPhone 6S reservation thread you will see that MANY still had issues connecting to WiFi or even Volte on Rogers with unlocked devices. Rogers DID make a statement that for the time being it was only working on Rogers branded phones yet some with unlocked iPhones 6S got it. It was a puzzling thing but yeah.

2 months since launch and Roger's still blocking VOLTE on Galaxy S7E. very sad. i keep calling customer support and all they say it will be another 6 to 8 months. some even think tmVOLtE will never be activated on Samsung phones

Its not that they won't, its when that is making us wait and why this long but seeing how they had many issues with the iPhone on VoLTE I do wonder what's going on.

I have a Rogers Note 5 and a S7 Edge.

Both of them have had VoLTE for a while - I love the new call quality and fast connect times. However, my Note 5 updated to Android M earlier this week and now has Wi-Fi calling included. I had to go through the registration process to get it activated but when I tried to key in my phone number for my S7 edge on the same page, it came back and said that it does not currently support Wi-Fi calling.

So they are updating software but not on the S7 edge?

Oops, spoke too soon, according to the OS upgrade page, the S7 Edge is slated as "coming soon" with Android 6.0.1 which includes Wi-Fi calling. Just no date on the delivery of the update.

Yes the update thread has been updated to that. Sadly the actual date will come closer to the date they release it on. just incase of other unforeseen issues

1). The S6 edge plus got the update yesterday. I don't know about the S6 though which should have it.

2). The S7 security patch should come out but unfortunately you won't get the answer you are looking for. All it says is Coming Soon on the OS Upgrade Schedule thread.

Hey guys, I'm a little confused....my S7 edge has 6.0.1 on it but no wifi calling settings, just voLTE. Is this still to come in another update?
